Our Favorite Writing Tool: 'Weekly Reader: Writing Magazine for Teens

One of our favorite writing tools is the 'Weekly Reader: Writing' magazine. This magazine contains insiteful articles, grammar and writing tips for teens. It's content will definitely appeal to teens.

The most recent issue features Stephen King. He talks about his love of writing, his writing habits, suggestions and tips. There's pictures of his home, the local bookstore and places that inspired some his famous books. If you visit the Weekly Reader website, your teen will have the opportunity to contribute to a story Mr. King has written. How cool!

There are other features, at the website, such as Teen Activities. Check out the Screenager Central for tips on keeping a Blog, building a website or making their own video. Teens can even read and post to 'Word', 'Weekly Reader's official teen Blog.

Marcus really enjoys receiving his issues, in the mail. We include them in our English curriculum. 'Weekly Reader' offers other magazines. Many can be purchase for individuals.

The website has writing ideas that you can also include in your curriculum. After one visit, it will probably find it's way to your favorites list.
