Summer Reading Programs Are at Your Public Library

Our local Public Libraries are launching the Summer Reading Program on June 15 through August 15. This is great time to get your children excited about reading and improving their reading skills.

I can remember when I was twelve years old signing up for the Summer Reading Program and devouring Beverly Cleary's books. I loved reading and still do.

There's a program for children up to 12 years old. If they read 10 books they will receive prizes from free admission to local museums, coupons for Pizza Hut and a local fair.

The teen's program offers prizes for reading books or writing short reviews of library materials and teen programs.

Libraries are also offering free special events such as magic shows, arts and crafts projects, music performances and more.
