Watch a Movie with Your Hubby This Weekend - Share the Benefits

The Case for Chick Flicks

The popcorn is popped, the lights are dimmed. Now you and your spouse just have to agree on the movie. If you're locked in a heated debate over the merits of Jarhead versus In Her Shoes, go with the sentimental choice, says Oliver Schultheiss, professor of psychology at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. According to a recent study, watching romantic movies can actually bring couples together.

Men and women who watched a romantic film experienced an increase of more than 10 percent in their levels of the hormone progesterone, which is associated with a subconscious urge to be close, researchers found. On the flip side, a movie like The Godfather can alter testosterone and dampen loving feelings.

"When you're watching movies, your hormones are responding as well as your mind," Schultheiss says. Sharing a romantic film is the perfect way to get cozy.

Ergonomics and the Home Office

Just because you work at home doesn't mean that you should ignore ergonomics. Matter of fact, by not addressing using proper equipment and tips you could find yourself suffering from chronic pain and permanent injury.

Since I suffer from chronic neck, back pain and bilateral carpal tunnel I decided invest in my health, to avoid further injury. The following are my favorite ergonomic picks!

I purchased a pair of Smart Gloves at our local office store for $19.95. These gloves provide extra support to my hands while I still have flexibility for typing and writing. I find them easy to pull on and off, comfortable and must have. My pair even have 'comfort beads' that are located in the lower palm. They provide the correct height for my hands.

My chair was purchased from PB Teen.com. (see the picture) The Perforated Airgo Chair provides me with great back support. The material breathes so I'm comfortable during the summer months. The handbars are padded for comfort a…

Stain Removal 101 - Checklist Please

When my husband was working for Hilton Hotels,in security, he was required to wear a suit and tie. His dress shirts really took a beating with pen marks and ring around the collar. I eventually broke down and purchased Martha Stewart's Laundry 101 guide. In it there's a Stain Removal First Aid Chart.

I actually made copies for my girlfriends. Once the word got out I even started receiving request for additional ones.

If you are in need, click here. You can download the chart and post it in your laundry room. You'll also find a handy list of stain removal supplies.
