Virtual Learning - It's Definitely an Option for Some

Virtual schools provide the lesson plans, books and support via the Internet and phone. In many states, there are virtual schools associated with the school district. You pay no tuition and books are provided. Some programs will provide a computer, at no cost. There are virtual schools that have a Christian base too. Some even offer on site classes and tutoring.

For many kids and parents, this is a good fit. You'll have a lot of support, the program does all the required state filings and more.

Here's a few to take a closer look at. Also check in your state and city for options.

Connections Academy - public school at home

The Jubilee Academy - Christian Homeschooling Program

Allied High School

Christa McAuliffe Academy - K-12 grades

Red Oak Academy - K-12 Distance Learning

Here's a few choices in California and San Diego County.

Eagles Peak Charter School - Tuition-Free California Public K-12 School

California Virtual Academies - K-10

Pacific View Charter School - K-12 based in Oceanside

San Diego Academy Homeschool - K-12 free program, locations county wide

Rona's Book Recommendation: 'Carol Guber's Type 2 Diabetes Life Plan'

This book is a must read for all diabetics and their families. It's a complete overview of the understanding and learning about the disease and how to live a healthier life. It should be also be a permanent reference in the family library.

I was able to finish reading this book in 2 days! I learned more about the medications, that my husband is taking, from this book, than from his doctor. I found that many of the food choices that he loves, he can still enjoy but with moderation. (this applies to all of us) And how important massages and lowering bad stress are for his circulation.

The book is called 'Carol Guber's Type 2 Diabetes Life Plan: Take Charge, Take Care and Feel Better Than Ever' by Carol Guber MS with Betsy Thorpe. Check it out from your local public library or visit
