Time Out for Coffee - Making Our Marriage a Priority

Recently, my husband took me out for coffee at 'The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf' after his work. We like to purchase our coffees and find a comfortable spot to sit. Sometimes we play Yahtzee or cards. Other times we discuss our day, politics or just gossip.

Our time out reminds me of our dates. He would call me up and invite me out for a drink or coffee. Remembering those times always brings a smile to this lady's face.

One of our rules is not to talk about our son. Sometimes it's difficult because he works two jobs and this can be the only time we have. But, we do very well at sticking to our rule.

It's SO important to have some time just for you, as a couple. Even though our son is now 14 years old it still can be tricky. Don't forget that you started out with just the two of you. Put your marriage in the front seat, it deserves to be there.

Take a Listen to This Week's Army Talk Radio Show - Maintaining a Marriage

I recently added the icon for 'Army Wife Talk Radio Show' to my Blogs. Even though I'm not a military wife I enjoy listening to the show. Tara discusses issues that important to those spouses that have a love one on deployment. She also discusses issues that are important to all of us. Such topics as depression, communications in relationships, parenting have been discussed.

As a former Air Force brat and married to a former Navy guy I know that military life brings unique concerns. I want to support this show. I appreciate the sacrifice of the military and their families.

Please let your military friends and family know about this great weekly show. Also, visit the website. It has so much information, as well as ways you can support the show and our military. You can click on Moms Radio Network icon to link to the show.
