This is the first time in my husband and I's adult lives where we had to shop for dental and health insurance. Our company insurance would not be starting for 90 days and I wanted to compare coverage. It's a confusing processing but I was able to find a very helpful website, esurancehealth.com. They offer a toll-free phone number for questions and assistance.
Our customer service rep advised me that my husband, whom is a diabetic, would be refused from all their carriers. I could also be automatically refused, due to my pre-existing conditions, so he directed me our company insurance. But our teen was a different story, he's healthy and young, so a HMO is a perfect fit and would save us money. How about a 50% savings and better coverage?
As for our dental insurance, we were able to purchase Anthem Dental Insurance that offered no limitations on extractions, ect. Our company's dental insurance has a 12 month exclusion.
