Bridal Flip Flops for the Comfort! Ah!

I have been blog visiting many brides wedding planning theme blogs, the last few months, obtained fantastic ideas and suggestions. My favorite one is switching your 'killer shoes' for something more comfortable...flip flops. And these days, there are bridal theme flip flops.

I found and purchased a terrific pair, White Orchid Flip Flops from Advantage For only $27.95 plus shipping and handling I have a dressy pair of fun flip flops.

Our Invitations are In The Mail !

Ceremony - Cake and Punch Reception Invitation

On Monday, August 11, 2008, Charles and I mailed our invitations! This was a joint effort since hubby addressed the white booklet envelopes using Microsoft Word. We worked together on the wording for the invitations. Marcus assisted with feedback on the coordinating stationary, from

By the way, Office Depot had the best option on white booklet envelopes. They offer them in packages of 25.

We placed all the invitations, RSVP postcards and enclosure cards in the booklet envelopes.

I had weighed all the contents and envelope so I knew postage was .59 cents. I purchased all my stamps online, via USPS. Oh, I shouldn't forget to mention the postage card stamps for the RSVP postcards.

My postage was under $40! Not bad for my budget.

$2000 Dollar Wedding

Our budget is $5000 for our renewal ceremony and reception. I even found a great deal at a local hotel for 4 nights so hubby and I can have a mini honeymoon.

I'm actually coming under budget.

I should also mention that there's no debt - everything is paid on time or in cash.

Yesterday I found a blog, 2000 Dollar Budget Wedding. I'm very impressed with how this couple was able to come under budget. Their family and friends were very involved - picking up, preparing and setting out the food.

In these tough times it's refreshing to read about an event that truly is done with love.

Not Back To School Party - Las Vegas

I thought I would pass this along. Sounds like fun but Charles and I have to work. Bummer.

The NorthWest Group, in Las Vegas, is pleased to announce it's NBTS Party!
When: Monday Aug 25th
Time: 10:30am
Where: Mountain Crest Park (Durango between Craig/Lone Mountain)-NW side of town

Traditionally, the NBTS Party is one of our largest get-togethers. This year we'd love to invite all homeschoolers to attend! This is a celebration of our
freedom to be able to homeschool and our families NOT going to school!

This will be a potluck lunch, so each family is encouraged to bring an item
to share. This park does have water features so towels/bathing suits
would be appropriate.

If anyone wants to set up games or crafts, that is always welcome, feel free to be in charge of whatever you wish to bring/do.... water balloons would always go over well (hint hint)!

Please feel free to pass this along to other

Acknowledging the Death of a Parent at Your Wedding - Nina Callaway

I've been doing some research on ways Charles and I can honor our deceased family members when I came across this article, Acknowledging the Death of a Parent at Your Wedding.

One of my favorites is including photos on a table with a bouquet of flowers.

Do you have some ideas that you would like to share?

Army Wives Online Episodes at Lifetime TV

I've actualy been watching this season's Army Wives episodes online.

Kim Delaney and Katherine Bell star in this terrific drama series, with a great cast.

As a former Air Force brat, there are many accurate moments but I love it because of the writing, acting and the stories.
