Thanksgiving Dinner at Calvary Church Spring Valley

Our church, Calvary Church Spring Valley, is having their first Thanksgiving Dinner, Shoulder for the Burden Outreach, for the Las Vegas homeless community, on Thursday,
November 27, 2008. They currently are accepting money, food and personal item donations, for this large endeavor.

Pastor Derek mentioned our former church, Horizon Christian Fellowship, in San Diego, as an inspiration,at a recent service. Pastor Mike, Horizon Christian Fellowship, has been spearheading an very successful Thanksgiving event, in San Diego, for many years. Many of the participants aren't even part of their church nor the faith. They see an opportunity to help their fellow community members.

We're also looking for volunteers for haircuts, serving meals, setup and teardown, and lots more. Stop by their website for more information on ways that you can also assist.

Happy Halloween at the Hard Rock Cafe!

We represented American Mini Storage at a fundraiser for American Breast Cancer, at the Hard Rock Cafe, in Las Vegas, last night. There was a rock band, Jack FM 100.5radio, vendors, and plenty of kids and adults in costumes, in their parking lot.

My husband and I had a terrific time, passing out the candy and marketing tools. But the highlight of the evening was Las Vegas on Halloween night. The costumes were very creative. We love the "I'll Work for Candy" toddler. We met people from all over the United States, including a couple that just got married and a young lady, dressed as a homecoming queen, celebrating her 21st birthday with her family!

We also made several networking opportunites with some local businesses, Cheeseburger Restaurant and Kim, a hair stylist, in Henderson. There was plenty of TV and radio coverage too!

My family was also invited to call the Hard Rock Cafe Dining Manager, Carlos, prior to our visit to their restaurant. I told him that our teen is very much looking forward to his first visit their restaurant. He wants our first family dining experience to be the best! Talk about customer service!

American Mini Storage will continue to partner with Hard Rock Cafe, in Las Vegas. Look for us at their December food drive/charity event.

Halloween Mini Greeting Cards - Whimspypic at Etsy.com

I recently received this very cute mini Halloween cards from whimsypic at Etsy.com, in the mail. Aren't they adorable? Now I can place one on my kidlet's desk and amaze him with my buying abilities.

I have always loved giving cards but these days I don't have time to make them. Thanks to online stores, like whimsypic, it just looks like I did. But, I give all the credit to the terrific crafts people at Etsy.com.

Selling Face to Face - Self Storage

Did you know that by answering the phone with competent sales motivated staff, making an appointments, creating urgency - you'll get 30% of those calls in your store? Well, it gets even better - you can turn that traffic into 80% new customers!

Why is this so important? Because if you don't have great sales people on the phone and in person they're going elsewhere!

Sales and customer service training are extremely important in every business, including self storage.

In these difficult economic times, let's stay ahead of the game - train and re-train your staff and management. It's a "Must Do Expense"!

My Favorite Male Singer - Bobby Caldwell

Thanks to the San Diego Jazz radio station, I was introduced to Bobby Caldwell and just fell hard for his smooth singing voice. His songs always remind me how much I love the hubby. I never get tired of listening to his songs. My favorite being "What You Won't Do For Love".

Do you have a favorite male singer that just leaves you all warm and fluffy inside?

Menu Plan Monday - October 27, 2008

Our Community Service Center, at American Mini Storage, Jones Blvd, Las Vegas
It's that time of the month when the hubby and I work towards exceeding our monthly goal, for our self storage property. I actually believe it makes the month go by faster.

We had our carpets cleaned, yesterday, by One Tough Gorilla. The feel of the carpet is soft under the feet. It was already dry by the time we got home! Sean did a fantastic job! And yes, we would highly recommend him! (he's also our client) He even had spacers under the chair, couches and coffee table legs.

My husband was thrilled that his Dallas Cowboys won yesterday. I guess things will be good today, in the office too. Our Corporate District and Area Manager are fans too.

Onto this week's menu! Thank you Organizing Junkie!
