We used to participate in Golden Share, when we lived in San Diego. It was a great help to our food budget, provided us with meat, veggies and fruit. We shared the items we wouldn't use with neighbors and the local food bank.
Recently, I discovered that Angel Food Ministries has four host sites in Las Vegas. If you've ever participated in their program could you comment about your experience. Thank you.

We actually have. The food is basic, but would be perfect for your small family. With your cooking abilities, you can fluff it a little and it would be great! Wonderful, giving program!
I have as well and for a family of three, it would work for a family of three. They even provide meal menus so that you can utilize the ingredients. The meat is fresh and tasty. Our Angel Food ministry if 40 minutes away so it's not as accessible but I think it would be a benefit.
