This is a view of damage to the hull of the USS Samuel B. Roberts.
This is my husband's former ship, USS Samuel B. Roberts, it hit a mine while escorting an oil tanker through the Persian Gulf on April 14, 1988. In October 1988, I met my husband while his ship was being repaired at Bath Iron Works, Portland, Maine.
