Restaurant Recommendation: TGI Fridays

On our day off, the hubby and I decided to stop by TGIFridays, at The Orleans for a quick lunch. I hadn't been to the restaurant in over 10 years and this was my husband's first visit.

We decided to sit in the bar so he could catch up on the sport scores. The 3 large plasma TV screens would be a great hit at our house. And I love the pub style tables and chairs.

I decided on having the California Turkey Burger and the French Onion Soup. Charles had the California Club and the Broccoli Soup.

Let's just say that we were sadly disappointed. The menu described my burger as being well-seasoned...nope. The French Onion Soup was bland, too much cheese and bread and not quite hot enough. Charles' California Club was okay and the cheese choice for the Broccoli Cream Soup...a bad one.

I love Guy Fieri, Food Network, and the TGIFriday's spokeperson. He's got a terrific personality. Unfortanately, the food doesn't. We won't ever be returning to this restaurant chain.

Things to Do With or For Your Teen This Year - Denise Witmer

On my New Year's Resolution List you'll find things to do with our teenager. While he's letting us know that he wants more independence we still want him to know that he's important to us.

I've always enjoyed cooking with Marcus. This week he and I made Beef with Peppers, Onions and Potatoes for dinner. (it was delicious) While we're cutting up veggies we talk. He even showed me a new way to chop a pepper!

Last year, we planned our renewal ceremony together. After we returned home from the renewal ceremony dinner, Marcus told me that he thought that it would be a weird experience but it was actually very cool.

Jack is Back! "24" on Fox January 11 8pm EST/7pm CST

"24" on Fox - Starts January 11th

This is what I've let this show do to me. Scream for Jack, in the bed. (it's okay with hubby because we're watching the show together) When I mentioned "24" is back to Marcus, his response, "Oh, this is going to suck!"

Yes, the writers' strike caused us to go through some '24' withdraws, last year. It is true that we do not allow Marcus to talk to us during the show. And this is one of the few shows that the hubby and I watch together.

"Hubby and I'll Will Have a Manicure and a Buff Please"

I've been wanting to get the hubby into a nail salon for years. He has rough hands, doesn't take very good care of them and who doesn't need some pampering now and then?

Now, don't get me wrong he has actually accompanied me many times, sitting in the next chair, chatting with me, the other clients and the owner. He just never wanted to get a manicure.

Well, on this last visit he announced that he would have the same service. I was so thrilled. Besides, I knew he would love the hand and wrist massage too! And guess what? He did enjoy it.

When we mentioned it to our teen he said that he was now in an elite group of men who have manicures. lol

Now, that he's made that small step it's onto a Spa Pedicure!

The New Year's Eve Family Celebration at our church was great fun! My husband, son and I stayed till midnight eating, playing board games and chatting with new friends. The response was very good with both parking lots full.

Last night I was on Cox Cable website reviewing our Internet bill when I noticed their cable line up. I clicked on it and discovered links to many of the TV stations.

It was fun watching What's Your Time Worth? on Fine Living then I rediscovered iLifetv, inspirational TV programming for the whole family.

You can still enjoy wholesome TV programming without taking on a cable bill.
