Living Your Life By Skillful Means - Real Simple

I was reading my March Real Simple magazine when I came across an article, "Live Your Life on Less" by Lesley Alderman. The writer explained that you don't have to go without your favorite things but you should find smarter ways to do them.

In my case, I love having a manicure. I also feel that it's a must since I work with my hands, customers see them and they should look good. Instead of going to the day spa and paying $45 for a manicure I head to a nail salon and pay $14 for a buff manicure.

My husband likes having a gym membership but I didn't like paying $30 or more for a monthly membership. We joined the local recreation center gym for $12 a month, no contract or sign-up fees.

You can still save money without really noticing it.

How are you living your life by skillful means?

Ways to Show You Love Your Husband - Lamp Unto My Feet

Are you looking for a more personal and long lasting Valentine's Day gift for your husband?

Stop by Lamp Unto My Feet's blog post, Ways to Show Love to Your Husband for some creative Valentine's Day and year around bonding moments.

One of my favorite ways to show my husband that I love him is purchasing something for his hobby, model making. He knows it doesn't really interest me so when I pick up his favorite monthly model magazine and leave it on his desk I get a big thank you! It also gives me great pleasure surprising him.

What are you planning for your special guy this Valentine's Day?

Works For Me Wednesday - February 11, 2009

Renewal Cake Topper Courtesy of Little Lynn's Creations at

After Marcus' second attempt at passing the Nevada Math Proficiency Test was not a success I decided it was time to call Huntington Learning Center.

Our family the in-take counselor today. Marcus took 3 hours of testing. Charles and I filled out a questionnaire and answered some detailed questions. She addressed many of our concerns and what areas of improvement.

Our family feels that this is definitely going to help Marcus pass the Profiency Test, as well, as address his need to improve his reading and study skills. And this is why Huntington Learning Center works for me!
