Our son, Marcus

Marcus has surprised us with news that he's decided he's graduating in January 2010 and joining the military! My husband and I were very surprised!

He's planning on going to summer school and then taking seven classes, in the first sememster.

All we can say is Wow! We're very proud of our son.

Question: Could You Recommend A Place That's Cheap But Has Good Food?

Charles and I decided to have dinner at a family owned restaurant called Country Cafe.

We've been looking for a family favorite diner since our move in January.

For only $14.95 and a coupon we had salad bar, entree, veggies, roll, potato and a drink. The Catfish was delicious, crisy and moist. I would order it again!

We decided that we'll definitely return for breakfast.

Could you recommend a place to get a good cheap bite to eat, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, in your local area?
How does this place keep your stomach and wallet from going empty?

Question: How Are You Keeping Positive These Days?

How are you keeping positive these days? Our news is full of negative topics, the war, economy, the flu and lots more I don't care to address. It can take a toll on one's mental health.

For me, depression is never faraway, due to my many years of severe chronic pain. But I've also learned some coping tools, along the way, to keep it from swallowing me whole.

I try to focus on our Heavenly Father, everyday and every moment. I'll take the time to pray and offer my troubles, concerns and worries frees me of these huge weights.

Sometimes, I'll grab one of my inspirational books and read a few sentences. Also, since we don't have cable we've discovered several inspirational TV programs.

I also love to appreciate my family, a good laugh, and our plant blooming.

Ok, now it's your turn.

Our new bed set from Marshall's

When it comes to purchasing products that my husband and I will be using we like to shop together.

I managed to marry a guy who doesn't mind shopping for household items. He enjoys cooking, likes a high thread count in his bed sheets and remember to add the Stain Guard option to our living room furniture. (Our teen still makes a mess)

Does your husband like to go shopping with you?

Menu Plan Monday - April 27, 2009

My anniversary gift from

We enjoyed a very delcious Tri Tip last week. I don't have the recipe because it was pre-prepared, available at Sam's Club.

Marcus has decided to graduate in January 2010 , early and enter the military. My husband and him will be going to the recruiting office tomorrow. We're very proud of him. But I am abit sad. I'm realizing my fulltime parenting duties are quickly ending.

I've been very sick this weekend, between my increase of pain and allergies I wasn't able to really enjoy our anniversary. My husband grilled some steaks but I could barely taste them.

Well, onto the menu. Thanks to Organizing Junkie for her hosting duties!

Grilled Chicken served on Mixed Greens

Renewing Your Wedding Vows: A Complete Planning Guide to Saying "I Still Do" by Sharon Naylor

This book was my only resource while planning our renewal ceremony.

It's a small book but loaded with tons of tips, stories, laughs and tears.

We found it extremely helpful in creating family moments and writing my vows.

Happy Anniversary Charles!

My husband's gift to me, last October - the opportunity to renew our wedding vows. Gift giving doesn't get any better then this. Thank you Charles.

Happy Anniversary hubby!
