Eureka - TV Show Recommendation

Cast of Season 3 of Eureka on SyFy, and Netflix

Thank you Charles for turning Marcus and I into fans of this SyFy channel show!
We got hooked via the Netflix DVD rentals and and fell in love with the characters.
There's Carter, the town sheriff and his daughter Zoe live in a town called Eureka. You'll notice that this isn't your usual small town of citzens. It's mostly made up of geniuses creating and researching new technology, medicines and science.

Allison, Fargo, Jo and Zane are some our favorite funny and interesting characters. Read more about this TV show, that recently started it's fourth season.

Eureka takes place in a high tech community of the same name, located somewhere in the Pacific Northwest (implied to be Oregon, because of the presence of Oregon maps and flags) and inhabited entirely by brilliant scientists working on new scientific advancements for the United States government that frequently go disastrously awry. The town's existence and location are closely guarded secrets.

U.S. Marshal Jack Carter stumbles upon Eureka while transporting a fugitive prisoner — his own rebellious teenage daughter Zoe — back to her mother's home in Los Angeles. When a faulty experiment cripples the sheriff of Eureka, Carter finds himself quickly chosen to fill the vacancy. Despite not being a genius like most members of the town, Jack Carter's ability to connect to others, simplistic ideas, and steadfast dedication to his work repeatedly saves Eureka, and indeed the entire world, from one would-be disaster after another.

The Big Blue Box - Postal Service Removing Mailboxes

If you haven't noticed the US Postal Service has been removing the curbside blue mailboxes for the last 10 years.

Question: Do you still "snail mail" your bills? Would you miss Saturday mail delivery?

Real Simple Easy Recipes - Real

Last Minute Lasagna is one of our family's favorite recipes. I did make some changes to the recipe by adding sauted mushrooms and Italian blend shredded cheese.

This recipe is very easy to make, just for a potlucks, family meals or entertaining.

Check out Real Simple for more yummy recipes.

Announcement: We'll Be Announcing Our TV Show Nominations!

Charles was reading an Yahoo article that was blasting this year's Emmy nominations this afternoon.

One thing is very clear, we feel they have "cut and paste" their list ~ it's made this event become boring!

BerryMorins Bits and Tips have decided that we're going to be listing our nominations for the various Emmy catagories on Tuesday, July 28!

That will give us all enough time to come up with a very much more exciting and we think deserving list.

How about you? Did your favorite TV show or actor get overlooked?

Wednesday, July 15, 2009 Auto Ship - Works For Me Wednesday

Do you find yourself running out the door when you run out of personal or health products? Well, we sure did and talk about a waste of time and money.

I decided to make a list of those items and check out the cost of purchasing them through Subscribe & Save. We now receive a regular delivery of sugar-free food products, personal and health care products on a monthly schedule that we chose.

Not only are we saving money by not making sporadic trips to the store, wasting gas and valuable time, I'm able to adjust deliveries based on our use. I also receive email alerts which remind me in case I need to adjust deliveries, quanities or even cancel them.

Craig Road Animal Hospital - Service Recommendation

Marcus and Charles waiting in the Exam Room with Toby

Marcus found the Craig Road Animal Hospital when Toby broke his leg. Their office hours made it possible for us to fit Toby's care into our very busy schedule. (I like that) I also liked their website. You can make appointments, receive email reminders, and even purchase pet insurance.

The staff are very nice and professional. Once you enter the facility you can tell that the pet owner and their pet are always their concern. The waiting room has a large widescreen flat TV that provides pet tips and information, it has lots of room and seating and is very comfortable.

This facility also offers boarding and grooming services. If you live in North Las Vegas and need pet services we highly recommend them.

We love their office hours too. How many animal clinics are open 7 days a week

A New Side Table - Gathering Room

Hubby liked the idea of having a side table next to the brown large chair. I thought I would surprise him with the purchase of a table that he had been eyeing at Marshalls.

We actually found a different style that we both liked ~ the style and the price!

Ducks in the Pond

Charles took Toby and I to a beautiful community park in North Las Vegas during our vacation. It was 107 degrees so we didn't stay long. Toby didn't even chase the ducks or geese. He was too busy smelling and nibbling the grass.

Toby and I had some fun with the camera this week.
