The BerryMorins would like to share some suggestions to make your Do It Yourself move go well.Suggestion 1:
Make a reservation - don't assume that there's plenty of trucks available for your move. Some areas, like Las Vegas, have a shortage of equipment.
Suggestion 2:
Have your vehicle checked before your move. We had a customer, who had towed her vehicle, try and start her car and the battery was dead. She admitted that she hadn't driven it in several months. She had to keep the truck and tow dolly an extra day so she could get her vehicle to a dealership. $$$$
Suggestion 3:
Make sure you have plenty of extra money for your move. Remember you have to return the truck full, you have to eat, pay for a place to stay and possibly have emergencies along the way. We had a customer's wife arrive with a sprained ankle. They had to take her to a clinic and he was concerned about expenses.
Suggestion 4:
Hire additional help - We cannot tell you how many times people have flaked and then you have to load your truck yourself. Also, many people do not know how to pack a truck efficiently.
Suggestion 5: Pack a
First Night Box - this one is because we couldn't find our frying pan for 3 days, misplaced Marcus' monitor electric connection and our plates.
