I'm so proud of his determination. He applied for a seasonal position and was scheduled for an interview. Their hiring person called him last week to advise him that they had no openings. He told that he would still like to come to the store for an interview and they said yes. He told them that he used to work at Sears Grand in the tools, gym equipment and large appliances. And you know what? He got the job!
He'll be working part time and in the mornings, for now. Marcus and I are really proud of him.
So, we're packing up the laptop and heading to our public library. Marcus is first with the laptop since he needs it for school.
The line for the library's computers is crazy. I should learn to schedule my time instead of waiting to use the laptop.
I hope everyone is well.
ps we are still mourning having to take Toby to the shelter but they do have a terrific animal clinic there. It helps to know that he'll be walking on all fours very soon. And we have lots of memories and photos of our Wonder Dog!
I've been reading the unemployed message boards for advice on keeping busy while looking for work. One thing many people mention is to volunteer your time. I decided that I would do just that at my church.
I stopped by and signed up for the food bank and the Thanksgiving Fest. Then I followed up with a call to the coordinator. She actually offered me the opportunity to work with her a couple hours a week organizing the volunteers list.
I'm really excited about being able to help these two causes and stay busy.
