10 Tips to Get Out of Debt - CNBC

I stumbled upon this TV show. Til Debt Do Us Part, today and man, was it a wake up call! One, it made me cry to hear and see the one husband not take the advice to sell the home. They would have been able to pay off all their debt and still had money in the bank. Two, it made me think how we were before we lost our jobs. We were spenders!

Third, we're spending more than the 35% on housing. The solution is to bring in more income and continue to let go of stuff.

Our first priority - to get rid of the storage unit. It's costing us almost $100 a month. I realize that we're not going to be moving anytime soon. We'll be bringing some items home, making some donations and hopefully selling some items. I would like to have the storage unit vacated within 2 months.

It's a bummer when you're short on funds, don't qualify for social service assistance nor have dental insurance. Sometimes you just have to go without seeing your local dentist till you find a full time job with a good dental plan.

In the meantime, you just better be practicing the good dental hygiene rules you grew up with. Cut out the sugars, drink lots of water, brush your teeth and floss.

This week, I had my dental consultation and was a bit anxious. You know when they are taking those x-rays you just never know if all the hard work really paid off.

Well, in my case, no cavities or gingivitis! I'll be going back for my dental cleaning in a couple of weeks. I'm so glad I listened to those dental films in elementary school.

Charles and I used to great fans of "24" but over time they suffered from too much press and poor storylines.

This season, we watched 2 episodes and called it quits.

I'm pleased to say that Mr. Sutherland, the cast, writers and producers have recognized that the steam has run out and it's time to call it a day.

I will plan on watching the last episode but haven't decided it I'll stay up for it's TV airing or watch the online episode.

I had my first appointment with my therapist this week. I always find, at the first appointment, that I'm doing alot of the talking and they're busy writing.

Afterwards, I was provided me with some stress, anxiety and depression coping tools list along with my appointment card for next week.

Hubby is Returning to College

After several months of job searching, with no success, my husband has decided to return to college. He plans on getting his certificate of achievement as a Pharmacy Technician.

Today, he had orientation and then the next step is testing. In the meantime, I'm working as much overtime, as possible. I'm also looking for a part time work at home job. Marcus is will began to contribute to the household.

If we work together, as a team, for the next two years he can get his certificate, have a marketable skill and hopefully find a full time job with a living wage.
