Kelly's Korner is having another fun topic for this week's linky party! Summertime Activities for Kids!
In our home our focus is teenagers! We recently added a second teen to our household so Charles and I have been discussing activities to keep her busy.
Those include a summer job search and volunteer work.
Check with your local non-profits for volunteer opportunities for your teen. They will not only have the chance to keep busy for a few hours a week but pick up some job skills.
Looking for volunteering opportunites? Ask them about their interests and what type of skills they might want to utilize. Then start by inquiring with their local church, schools, food banks, hospitals and animal shelters.

Busy Settling In at the BerryMorins

We're still unpacking, sorting and decorating these days. Along with having another teenager in the house, Marcus, Charles and I are busy working.
But we're finding time to hang out at the pool, spa, take walks around our new neighborhood and workout in the gym!
We hope you're having a terrific summer too!

Proud to be Poor - Moms of Faith
Proud to be Poor
I decided to get up early this morning to enjoy some well deserved quiet and do some blog visiting. That's when I came across Moms of Faith's Proud to Be Poor. (Isn't the Heavenly Father great!)
Lindsay shares her experience as a new Christian and her understanding of “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3)
I really loved what her pastor shared about this verse. “To be poor in spirit means to have desperate need. This is how we all come to God.”
Over the years, I've felt a little awkward as a Christian. It's been more then 7 years since I accepted Christ and was baptized. Yet I still feel like a beginner. Well, after reading Lindsay's post I realize it's all good!
Have a blessed week!

Menu Plan Monday - June 21, 2010

Well, we packed, moved and closed out our storage unit on Thursday. We're now getting settled into our new apartment!
Hopefully after this being our 5th move in 3 years we'll stay put for awhile. Hint-hint hubby!
We have a houseguest for a few days. It appears one of our son's friends was kicked out of their home and had no place to stay. It's heartbreaking to think of all the homeless kids in Las Vegas. Some estimates are that 55% of high school kids are homeless! Please keep these kids in your prayers.
Now, onto this week's menu! Hubby bought a huge bag of potatoes!
Roasted Chicken Thighs with Potatoes and Onions
Spaghetti Sauce with Whole Wheat Thin Spaghetti
New England Pot Roast with Lots of Root Vegetables
Sandwiches
Italian Sweet and Hot Sausages with Grilled Onions and Potatoes
Happy Father's Day Card Courtesy of Cowgirl Creations

I'm a big fan of homemade cards at Etsy and of Cowgirl Creations! My husband loved his Father's Day card, from last year, so much that I returned for another one.
Happy Father's Day Charles!
Our family renewal ceremony cake topper
Happy Father's Day to the most amazing dad and husband. We were truly blessed when you came into our lives.
Love you always,
Rona and Marcus
