Show Us Your Life - Your Best Grilling Recipes

At Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life, this Friday's topic is Your Best Grilling Recipes! At our house that would be Joe's Red Devil Chicken!

The first time I saw it being prepared was on the classic Martha Stewart TV show several years ago. Joe, a firefighter, was preparing this recipe, along side Martha. Marcus and I liked the ease of prep, the fact that you could grill it and how delicious it looked.

It soon became a family favorite!

My New Hair Style and Hair Color!

Last week I stopped by Top Notche' Hair & Nail Salon to have my hair relaxed, colored, trimmed and styled by "T". First of all, she's an amazing hair stylist! I felt very relaxed and let her take the lead in my hair color and style. When she mentioned a dark brown color I didn't bat an eye.

I love how easy my style is. It's easy to manage and maintain. She suggested some hair care products that I could purchase at Sally Beauty Supply. Also that if I want to keep this length a hair trim every 3 weeks. My hair color should be touched up every 2 months. While touch ups can be done with a hair dye pencil.

It feels so good to treat myself!

Shorter Doorways - Great Martial Advice

I was reading my lastest newsletter from About.com Marriage this morning. It's amazing how the Heavenly Father brings us just what we need.

Shorter Doorways by Sheri and Bob Striof Marriage Guides hit the spot when I read the following:

When upset about something or with someone, taking a pause to count to ten can prevent you from saying or doing something you would later regret.

I also said a prayer and that really helped. It seems my husband was upset about his job status and he was taking it out at me.

A New Hair Color and Hair Style...Photos to Follow

This week I had a hair appointment with T at Top Notche' Hair Salon & Nail Salon. We had a consultation over the weekend. She suggested a semi permanent hair color, trim, relaxer and conditioner.

After four hours, at the salon, I'm now sporting a short Halle Berry inspired hair style with a new hair color...dark brown.

I really love it! It's so easy to get ready in the morning.

I'll share some photos this weekend.

We're Considering a Very Small House - Jay's Small House

For years, Charles and I have discussed downsizing to a very small house when we become empty nesters. We think a 10x10 will work well for us.

Goodbye Old Friend ~ Our Toaster Died

Ten years ago we purchased our toaster from Williams-Sonoma. After experiencing replacing inexpensive toasters once a year we decided to spend more for quality.

This weekend she toasted her last slice of toast.

We'll miss you old friend.

Menu Plan Monday - July 19, 2010

We gave her this side table. It's been a long time since I've had a Seventeen magazine in the house.

Kiana's new bed ~ bedding from Target

Marcus and Charles picked up Kiana's bed on Friday. We then bought her some bedding at Target. Target is carrying Room Essential ~ lots of great colors and pattern choices in bedding.

The hubby and I had a terrific time dining out with friends. The food at EllaEm's was amazing! It definitely has made it to our family favorite list!

Red Devil Chicken, Grilled Asparagus, Roasted Potatoes

Haddock Sandwiches, Potato Salad

Turkey and Gravy, Mac N Cheese

Pea and Pesto Spaghetti

Potato and Zucchini Hash with Eggs

We Love Our Quiet Space

Our faithful friend is all settled in the master bedroom. We love the quiet of our space.

If you look closely, you can see Sock Monkey, a anniversary gift from the hubby!

Yes, We're Serious About Our Coffee!

As you can see, my husband and I are serious coffee drinkers! lol Actually, it's a planter that we purchased from Walmart a few years ago.

It's new job is holding our keys and garage opener.

Pedicure Time~ Kiana and Me

I treated Kiana to a spa pedicure and manicure this week at Beverly's Nails. The manicurist suggested painting a flower on my big toes. I took her suggestion of having french tips.

Kiana also had her manicurist paint flowers on her big toes. It was a real treat for her since this was her first time!
