Our New Vegetable and Herb Container Garden & Dave, The Traveling Plant

Charles and I spent some leisure time in Home Depot's Gardening Section this afternoon.

We came home with a new larger pot for Dave, some starter vegetable and herb plants, pots and soil and lots of determination.

We had a great time planting our new plants. We decided to start out with collard greens, oregano, Roma tomatoes, yellow bell peppers.

Dave, the Traveling Plant, has a new larger pot and fresh soil. Oh, and a new sunny spot on the patio.

What a nice view from the dining area.

September Angel Food Ministries Order

Charles and I picked up this month's Angel Food order, this morning. We gave the kids the task of unpacking and storing the food. I'll have fun creating the next following weeks menu plans.

Fruit and Vegetable Box contains potatoes, sweet potatoes, lemons, cantaloupe, oranges, avocado, onions and lots more.

Along with the Fruit and Vegetable Box we picked up these boxes, for the month of September ~ 2 Bountiful, Steak and Breaded

Charles Received a Job Offer Yesterday!

After his interview he received an email job offer from a work at home call center company! Thanks Rat Race Rebellion!

Since this company offers flexible hours - you pick the hours you want to work - he's planning on keeping this job even after he obtains a full time position.

Kiana, Marcus and I are so proud of him. I also extend him a warm welcome to work at home community!

Way to go babe!

It was time to sit back in "T"'s chair for a relaxer and color. This time she went with a different shade of brown and a new hair style.

Sunday Cleaning - The Patio

Our teens, Kiana and Marcus, spent some time, on Sunday, cleaning the patio. Las Vegas winds brought lots of sand. While the birds decided that our patio made a great restroom.

Making Dinner His Way - "Marcus! Put Your Phone Down!"

Here's the look I got when I asked Marcus, our teen, when are we going to eat.

We probably would be able to eat sooner if Marcus, our teen, would put his phone down. Thanks Christine for the caption!

As the World Turns ends, no new home | TV Series Finale

As the World Turns ends, no new home | TV Series Finale

As the World Turns is the second soap opera to wrap up in 2 years due to low viewers, reduced advertising dollars and high cost.

I still remember seeing my mother sitting on the couch, folding laundry and talking to the TV. "That darn Lisa!" As I got older I found myself sitting next to her, asking questions about the characters. Before I knew I was hooked.

These days, many young girls and boys aren't coming home to seeing their moms watching soaps. (this how soap operas continue to have new viewers for years)

Let's face facts. Many former soap opera viewers have been turned off by the poor writing, recycled and low morals storylines. There's also primetime "soap opera" and reality TV shows to pick from.

Even though I had stopped watching As the World Turns 8 years ago, when I heard it was ending I decided to start watching the last 2 weeks. It was good to see the writers give some of the favori…

The recession is certainly not over in Las Vegas. We still have casinos and hotels closing, and many people still looking for a job.

Farmers' Markets Struggle to Attract Food Stamp Users | Food & Drink | Lifestyle | Mainstreet

This was a very interesting news story to me especially with 1 in 7 people now on the food stamp program, having the highest obesity, diabetes and other health issues.

The article points out many contributing facts such as user's impression of high cost of fruit and vegetables at farmers' market, no transportation,or not knowing their benefits would be accepted.

Menu Plan Monday - September 20, 2010

Marcus, our teen, said that his first day of work at Big 5 Sporting Goods was busy and exhausting. He was so tired that he didn't even use his key but knocked at the door. When he came in he immediately went to his room and fell on his bed.

I attended online church services at Horizon Christian Fellowship in San Diego. This was the first church that our family attended and where I was baptized in Mission Bay. Pastor Mike is still my favorite pastor.

This week we'll be picking up our Angel Food Ministries order. I plan on sharing photos of the contents here. I spent around $150 for various boxes.

Now onto this week's menu plan. Thank you to Organizing Junkie for hosting this linky plan.
