Things Babies Born in 2011 Will Never Know

It was fun reading the list of technologies and products that the experts are predicting will not be around for babies born in 2011.

Here's just some of the items mentioned:

Video tape: Starting this year, the news stories we produce here at Money Talks have all been shot, edited, and distributed to TV stations without ever being on any kind of tape. Not only that, the tape-less broadcast camera we use today offers much higher quality than anything that could have been imagined 10 years ago -- and cost less than the lens on the camera we were using previously.

Travel agents: While not dead today, this profession is one of many that's been decimated by the Internet. When it's time for their honeymoon, will those born in 2011 be able to find one?

The separation of work and home: When you're carrying an email-equipped computer in your pocket, it's not just your friends who can find you -- so can your boss. For kids born this year, the wall between office and home will be…

Recovery Day 2 of Having Wisdom Teeth Removed!

Poor Marcus! This Day 2 of recovery from having his wisdom teeth removed!

I Love Law & Order Season 1 Tonight!

I'm spending my me time watching Season 3 of Law and Order on DVD. The original is always the best!

Things I've Learned Thursday! January 6, 2011

1. Dr. Harris, my pain management doctor, was right! Use dry heat on the back of my neck to deal with my headaches. It really worked!

2. Our son, Marcus, is now 6 feet 6 inches! But he's still our "Little One".

3. I'm not a fan of hair extensions! Over Christmas I had a terrible headache and Charles, my husband had to take them out. Lets just add that it's not a pain-free experience!

4. Percocet works wonders! After 10 years of being on Loritab it was time for a change. I'm feeling much better at managing my pain level. It's good to be able to be focused at work.

5. While working on the 20 New Year's Revelations questions I had to relive my time in the mental hospital. It was a horrible and humbling life experience for me and my family. It truly saved my life!

What have you learned this week?

Marcus is Having His Wisdom Teeth Pulled Out!

Marcus, our son, me, Charles,my hubby and Sock Monkey

Marcus just called me this afternoon and informed me that he needs to have his wisdom teeth removed. I had budgeted for extensive dental work when I set up this year's annual amount for my health reimbursement account. I also kept Marcus on my dental plan.

I'm also glad to take care of this for him since my parents weren't in a position to do so for me.

My four wisdom teeth were removed when I was in my late 20's,after I secured a fulltime job. By that time the teeth had grown into my jaw. They actually required 2 surgeries to be removed. I didn't want Marcus to deal with that.

Chronic Illness, Work and Family and Medical Leave Act

I just recently discoved that as of January 25, my first year anniversary, I'll be able to utilize the Family and Medical Leave Act.

There's coverage for those of use with chronic illness that will cover days off due to our conditions.

Click here to read more about the act at About.com.

ps the Act doesn't provide monetary coverage~it will provide an excused absence.

Charles, my husband, called me yesterday and informed me that it was snowing in North Las Vegas! I looked outside and saw large flurries falling from the sky!

We're Sick! How About You?

Well, only Marcus, our teen, is still without a cold. Kiana has a terrible cough. Charles and I are dealing with the aches and pains along with a stuffy nose.

So we're drinking lots of fluid, getting bedrest and watching lots of Netflix!
