Netflix Really Wants To Stop Sending You DVDs | The New York Observer

Netflix Really Wants To Stop Sending You DVDs | The New York Observer

We've been Netflix users since 2007 and loved it! Now there's some news that may cause us to look elsewhere for our DVD viewing.

I think this blogger stated most of our opinions the best! "You're just killing off DVD subscriptions one step at a time," wrote an angry user. "First the price hike, Blu-Ray surcharge, and now this. When optical media goes, so do I."

There's nothing more that I will be adding.

Starbucks is rolling out a larger cup size in May 2011. The new size will be available only for iced coffee, iced tea and iced tea lemonade drinks in the United States. The Trenta is 7 ounces larger than Starbucks' "Venti" cup for iced drinks, which currently is its largest size on offer.

Menu Plan Monday - January 17, 2011

It's Martin Luther King Day! Many people will be recognizing the day by volunteering or watching parades today.

Sunday evening I attended Fancast Golden Globe Live Chat. It provided a pleasant different spin to watching the event.

Marcus spent the week recovering from his wisdom teeth removal. I think he was surprised by the level of pain. He was our little toddler again, calling for mom, crying and looking for relief. It's difficult to see our 6 ft 6 inch Little One suffer.

Now onto this week's menu plan. Thank you to Organizing Junkie for hosting this weekly linky party!

Pot Roast with Carrots, Potatoes and Onions and Gravy

Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Brocolli and Cheese, Mixed Greens and Mac n Cheese

Oven Pork Chops, Salad, Carrots

Sandwiches and Soup

Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans

Nevada Week In Review - Couple Time

Charles and I have always enjoyed knowing what's happening in our local community regarding politics. Thanks to Nevada Week In Review, on PBS, we can stay updated on issues important us.

Nevada Week In Review topics this Sunday included discussions of possible school vouchers and Station Casinos coming out of bankruptcy. Good news for Las Vegas is that Station Casinos is hiring around 1000 employees.

You can catch the show on Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at noon. If you miss the Sunday airing catch it online!

Sunday Morning Biscuit Making...And Then I Burnt Them!

Our family cookbook, Betty Crocker Big Red! As you can see the pages are beat up from use!

Here's the rolled out dough. I actually made it thicker then this but thought I would try something different. ps mistake number one

I've been meaning to purchase some biscuit cutters but this glass does a great job!

I learned this trick while watching an Alton Brown "Good Eats" episode on making the best biscuits. The indentation helps keep the tops flat.

And then I burnt them because I forgot to turn on the kitchen timer! I just didn't have the heart to share that photo!
