Marcus still falls asleep in the car

Today, we celebrate Marcus' 19th birthday! Our "Little One" who towers all of us these days. Who's "Mom" is heard with a deep voice. Ah, we love you so much!

My Ongoing Stuggle with Major Depression and Anxiety - Re-evaluation

My family and friends comment that they're amazed with how well I'm dealing with my pain. They have no idea of the battle I have with major depression and stress anxiety.

When I visualize it's me, fighting to stay above water, waves hitting me in the face, an anchor around my waist pulling me under, while I'm gasping for every breath!

After being committed last April, I thought I had found my savior in Prozac and Trazadone. In the last 4 months, I begin noticing mouth sores and tingling, night grinding, waking up in the middle of the night, and increasing stress issues during the day.

This week, I was so overwhelmed with great saddness that I knew I had to share with my concerned husband.

So, it's been decided that I will be returning the psychologist for a evaluation and change of medication. It's also been suggested that I go back to therapy. My company offers EAP, Employee Assistance Program, that will cover 12 visits.

The difference for me this round is that I recognized that I do need help and reached out for help.

American Greetings Create and Print - Service Recommendation

I love sending and giving greeting cards but I was looking for a way to save some money and still give quality cards.

American Greetings offers Create and Print for $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year. You chose from a variety of greeting cards for lots of occasions. Then you can put your personal touch on it by changing colors, fonts, importing photos and graphics and adding lettering.

I purchased heavy stock paper, in a variety of colors, for $2, at Big Lots. With my paper edge tool and a box of extra envelopes I went to work!

In comparision to purchasing greeting cards online or at a brick and mortar store, this is a much more affordable way to brighten a person's day.

Remembering Moments Spent With Marcus

It was a beautiful day! And I will remember it fondly.

Bedroom Decorating Re-Do - Always Changing

I just get the urge to change the layout of our apartment. Here's the results of our bedroom.

Do you and your spouse/partner have your side of the bed? Charles loves the right side. He says he can't sleep unless he's on that side. And believe me, he's tried!

I decided to hang these 2 pictures on my side. I love photos that remind me of San Diego. We have fond memories of our time there.

How to Cope With Chronic Illness When You Have No Health Insurance

How to Cope With Chronic Illness When You Have No Health Insurance

These days, many of us may have a part time job or even a full time job but no health benefits. And when dealing with a chronic illness it can make things more overwhelming.

While I was unemployed and waiting for my health insurance to start, I found the Nevada Health Centers helpful. The $25 doctor's visit fee was more managable then $220 every month.

I used the Nevada Drug Card to pay for my pain medication. The free prescription discount card helps you by offering purchasing your prescriptions at a lower rate, at participating pharmacies.

I encourage you to do an online search and see what programs are available to you.

When my husband and I were working as Self Storage Property Managers one of the perks was free rent and utilities. I cannot tell you how much that helped us. With the high cost of maintaining my chronic pain it was a true blessing.

According to Rent.com survey less people are considering no longer considering homeownership their American Dream.

My American Dream is for my husband and I to have living wage full time jobs which would enable to pay my medical bills, rent and pay for necessities.

Celebrating Doing Business in Your Bathrobe Day!

I'm wearing my very old red robe. I think Charles gave it to many Christmas' ago. I like to keep fun items on my desk. Check out the Rubix cube, Arthur and DJ! And of course, I have to have photos of the kids.

Kiana and Marcus are one of the reason I work at home. Yes, teens do appreciate having a parental unit at home. Whether it's to complain about each other or help with a homework they know where I'm at.

Like my shades?! These are from my eye doctor. He dilated my pupils and gave me a pair of Roll lens!

Kudos to all of those who work at home!
