You should have seen his huge smile and seen his enthusiasm when he got home after his appointment, at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts!

It's been a long time since we've seen the spark. Things have been very difficult this year with job loss and my declining health.

Marcus has also been struggling with his next life decision. And it's hard as a parent to not want to guide your child.

Charles, Kiana and I are so thrilled that he's decided that he wants to attend this school. We've all signed up for home lessons from Marcus.

I'm looking forward to learning some breadmaking skills!

I'm reposting this blog post about giving and receiving Sympathy Meals. It truly touched me deeply reading the replies.

While I've been dealing with additional symptoms lately, making a meal isn't on the top of my To Do List.

Receiving: My amazing husband showed up with a healthy and delicious salad for lunch, for me, while I was on bed rest. It was a great surprised. And despite horrible daily pain I had big smile on my face.

Giving: The kids and I made some chocolate cupcakes and decided to share them with our neighbor's kids. It's a great ice breaker!

Dealing with My Hair Loss - Another Thing to Add to My List

Despite the fact that wigs, hair extensions and hair pieces are much more acceptable these days the realization that my I am suffering from hair loss has not been easy.

I've cry in the shower so that my family won't hear me. As recently as this week.

I've done lots of research on selecting, wearing and care for wigs. There's so many articles and online videos on the subject. This information has made me feel a little better. It's seems there's a need for it.

I decided that I'm going to have my relaxed hair cut off. This will leave me with a very short natural cut. I figure this decision will make the transition much easier.

My family's response has been interesting. Marcus has been making jokes about my side of the closet shelf turning into a wig gallery. Charles, my husband, says I should consider buying 7 wigs and naming them after the days of the week. Kiana has suggested that I continue to have my hair colored and wear a very short natural style, along with wearing wigs.

Charles took my wig size measurements. We looked at hair swatches and several styles at Especially Yours. This part is very overwhelming but between the two of us we were able to narrow the wish list down to 3 choices. Then I ordered my first wig yesterday.

I'll continue to keep you posted.

My 3-Hour Lunch Break - Working Out With Marcus

Now that the apartment complex gym has re-opened with brand new exercise equipment I've started my lunch break workout again. It's a great way to break up the day, do something positive for myself and spend some time away from the family.

Today, I was pleasantly surprised to see Marcus stop by. It was nice to spend some time with him. We had a great talk while working out. He even gave me tips with my weight training.

Afterwards, while walking back to the apartment, I remembered how much I enjoyed all the times we spent together. It brought a big smile to my face!

I made Roasted Chicken Breasts last night with Mashed Potatoes and Salad. Charles really enjoyed it! So, I decided that I would make something different with the leftover chicken tonight.

Marcus Had His Braces Removed Today!

After paying $800, here's my smile as I realize that Marcus is no longer in braces, as of today! The orthodonist removed them and have him wearing a retainer for awhile.

They did find out that he has a cavity. So, he'll be returning to have it filled asap!
