Teresa and Joe Giudice Renew Wedding Vows In Lavish Ceremony

Teresa and Joe Giudice Renew Wedding Vows In Lavish Ceremony

I love vow renewals more then weddings actually. A vow renewal can be just the two of you or a grand event.

And it looks like Teresa and Joe Guidice, Real Housewives of New Jersey, decided to put all those rumors to rest by letting the world know they are in their marriage for the long haul!

I do love the the variety of colors and flowers she choose for her bouquet. I'm also a fan of the large size bouquet.

That's a lot of dress. I wonder if it was heavy to wear?

Here's the happy couple!

Kim Kardashian's Wedding Dress ~ Did You Love It?

Kim and Kris Humphries
I'm not a fan of the dress on her.  I just don't like top of the dress.  But I love her hair dress with the long veil.  She does look like an Armenian princess!

I also don't like all the white. I love seeing some color but then it's not my wedding. I would have liked to see color in her bouquet.  And Kris' white jacket...maybe it looked better in person.
I love the second wedding dress!  And Kris looks very handsome in all black!

Here's best wishes to the newlyweds!

Fall Has Arrived! Apple Pizza

My husband decided to make an apple tart but I was more like a apple pizza.  But it was so good!  He used my favorite apple..Granny Smiths.  I just love the tartness!

Here's the recipe he used, courtesy of the Betty Crocker Big Red Cookbook. He did use Splenda brown and white sugar. The package will give you the equivalents to regular sugars.  *Charles did make his own pastry.  The pastry recipe follows the Apple Wrapper Pie.

Apple Wrapper Pie
Pastry for 1 Crust Pie*
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
4 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples (4 medium)
1 tablespoon butter or stick margarine
Granulated sugar, if desired Splenda

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Make pastry as directed-except roll pastry into 13 inch circle. Place on large ungreased cookie sheet. Cover with plastic wrap to keep it moist while making filling.

Mix brown sugar and flour in large bowl. Stir in apples. Mound apple mixture on center of pastry to within 3 inches to edge. Cut butter into small pieces:  making pleats so it lays flat on apples. Sprinkle pastry with sugar.

Bake 30 to 35 mins or until crust is light golden brown. To prevent excessive browning, cover center of pie with 5 inch square of aluminum foil during last 10 to 15 mins of baking. Cool on cookie sheet on wire rack 1 hour, or serve warm.

Pastry for Pies and Tarts
One Crust Pie 9 inch
1 cup all purpose or unbleached flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon shortening
2 to 3 tablespoons cold water

Have You Tried Gel Polish? I Love It!

This is 2 weeks.
I think I need to stop starting a sentence off with "I'm never going..."  I actually said that about gel polish in the past.  I just couldn't get over the price some ladies were paying.

So, a couple of weeks ago my husband told me to treat myself to a manicure.  I pulled in a parking lot of a recently opened nail salon to have a basic manicure topped off with OPI nail polish.

The nail tech started educating me about the benefits of gel polish.  And it was only $25!

I have to say the process does take time but it's so worth it!  The polish can last up to 3 weeks.  It can adore everyday activity without chipping in the first week.  And my husband loves that my polish has lasted this long!

I even think I saved money because I usually like to have a manicure every 2 weeks.  I'll be passing up on that this week.

How about you?  Have you tried the gel polishes yet?

Bike Transportation For the Hubby

Charles needed some transportation to get him to and from work when there's not a bus running.  He found this bike at Walmart for only $99.

Some of the benefits are that he's able to decompress from work and he's getting exercise.

I'm Here and Feeling Great! I'm Off the Opiates!

Man, deciding to stop taking opiates is a @#$*!  I think I actually have more gray hairs!

I'm still dealing with withdrawal symptoms such hot flashes, memory loss, exhaustion and loss of appetite.

My pain level did dropped.  It's at a level that I can management with alternative treatments.

Thank you to the Heavenly Father and my family for never leaving my side!  And thank you for all your prayers and good thoughts.
