Kelly's Korner Marcus & Me - Mom of One Bio Child

Marcus has been our one and only  bio kid for 18 years.  Kiana came to lived with us from 2010 to 2011.  We truly loved having her here.  And we still consider her one of us!

My hat goes off to those who have more then one.  It's definitely hard work!

My husband and I are so proud of Marcus.  We gave him a life surrounded with culture, music, community service, great mentors and frequent moves. He gave us insight throughout the years.  He's always been our motivation and inspiration.  He's our blessing.

I wanted to share with moms of young child some of my mothering experience over the years.  Your children grow up, chose their own journeys and make mistakes.  There's lots of laughs and many tears along the way.  They may not going in the direction that you might have chosen for them but you support and love them 100%!

Now that Marcus is 19 years and planning his exit from the family home we will miss him so much.  But he knows whenever he needs us he can call on us a…

Debutting Our New Digital Camera from Office Depot!

I took a chance and went to Office Depot to see what bargains I could find to replace our died 4 yr old 8 megapixels digital camera.

I was not disappointed with this 16 megapixels Kodak easyshare camera.  I also purched the support kit and 2 year replacement warranty.

Total $140.  I love the crisp and vibrant colors!

I want to kudos to the staff!  They provided me pros and cons that left me feeling confident with my choice.

Marcus plans on using this camera for his videos.  I think that will give us a quick turnover since my husband has decided to take the netbook to work.  and that's where Marcus had recorded his videos!

We thrilled to have a camera back in the BerryMorin household.

The Bacon Eating: Teens & Communications

Still Looking For a Halloween Costume For Your Kids? Martha Stewart

I remember one Halloween where Charles and I waited till the last week to purchase Marcus' costume.  Let me just say it was a struggle but after 3 stores we actually found him a costume.  Lesson learned!

While hanging out at Martha Stewart website today I came upon these simple Halloween kid costumes!  Aren't they cute?!

Just using some materials, leggings and a long sleeve shirt that you have around the house you can create a great costume!

Menu Plan Monday - October 24, 2011

I've taken a long break from MPM and now I'm back!  Our family is focusing on cutting back on processed foods..eating more whole foods.

I've also stopped taking opiates for my severe chronic pain in August!  I'm using alternative methods to treat my pain these days.

More good news in the BerryMorin household is that my husband secured a full-time job in July.  He's a bus driver with the city.  And his job has full benefits!  Great news because I'm looking to change jobs soon and will loss my benefits.

Enough about us...now onto this week's menu plan!  Thanks to Organizing Junkie for hosting this weekly linky party!

Oven fried butterfly shrimp, homemade potato salad, mixed greens salad

Tri tip, mixed greens salad, pinto beans

Spaghetti with meatballs, mixed greens salad

Pizza..lots of veggies!

Chicken Brocolli with Cheese, corn, mixed greens salad

Sandwiches and Chicken Noodle Soup

Understanding Pain: What to do about it in less than five minutes?

I thought I would share this video with you. After 11 years of taking various opiates I decided to stop...I found that my pain did lower. I'm also exercising regularly, have a chronic pain adviser, and slowly removing those road blocks and fear that developed over the years.

Over time I hope I'll be able to re-train my brain. Wish me luck.
