Veteran's Day - Thank You for Your Service!

This is a view of damage to the hull of the USS Samuel B. Roberts.

This is my husband's former ship, USS Samuel B. Roberts. It hit a mine while escorting an oil tanker through the Persian Gulf on April 14, 1988.

In October 1988, I met my husband while his ship was being repaired at Bath Iron Works, Portland, Maine.

I want to thank all of those who served, are serving and their families for protecting our country!

Happy Veteran's Day!

Pot Roast Slow Cooker Kit ~ Fresh & Easy

I'm wicked busy today so while shopping at Fresh & Easy I purchased a Pot Roast Slow Cooker Kit.  It's available in their fresh meat section.

In it you'll find a chuck roast, a variety of chopped and diced vegetables and a seasoning packet.  Just cut open the package, dump into the slow cooker and add 3.5 cups of cold water, stir, cover and place on low for 10-11 hours or high 4-6.

I got to run now!

Clean and Organize File Drawers ~ Check!

I love my Dymo Label Maker!
There's no before photo because I was so embarrassed that it got that bad!

I decided that I would spend most of my days off sorting, cleaning and reorganizing the file cabinets and desk drawers.

Afterwards, I had a large garbage bags of shredded papers, junk and drawers that don't need to be dumped out to find anything!

ps does anyone need 5 boxes of staples?!

Wine Tasting at Sam's Club! Whee!

Hubby and I relaxing in our living room - spring 2011
While shopping at Sam's Club a couple of weeks ago we were surprised to see amongst the usual food demos a table with different wines.

The demonstrator had me sign my name and date prior to trying a sample.  Charles passed because he was working that day.

We ended up purchasing a bottle.

Who knew you didn't have to travel to wine country...just to your local Sam's Club

Menu Plan Monday - November 7, 2011

Can you believe it's in the 40's this morning in Las Vegas?  Yes, it does get cold here....even snows a bit.  I'm hoping to take advantage of the clothing sales to stock up on some long sleeve shirts and jeans this month.

I've got Black Friday marked on the calendar because Marcus, our teen and I are planning on heading out.  Our mission...a 40 inch TV at an awesome price.  Also, we've never participated in so this maybe our first and last Black Friday!

Have the turkey prices started going down in your area?  Fresh & Easy has them at 59 cents a pound in their latest weekly special flyer.

Thanks to Organizing Junkie for hosting this weekly linky party!
