Furniture Feature Friday ~ Miss Mustard Seed: Vintage Metal Tiffany Typewriter Stand

I'm going to really show my age here so you've been warned.

I remember the days of taking many typing class, in high school, on an electric typewriter that sat on a Tiffany Typewriter Stand many moons ago, flood back when I saw this baby!

Tiffany Typewriter Stand on my Etsy wish list!

Mint Home, Etsy store, sells vintage furniture. They have left this piece in it's original gray color. (love it)

I agree with the owner that this would make a terrific mini bar. What do you think?

My First Outing Since Catching A Horrible Cold!

Today was my first outing after catching a nasty cold from the hubby last week. We're out of everything so Marcus went out and did some grocery shopping. I had to go pick up my prescriptions at Target.

I didn't have to wait long for the bus but I was dizzy when I arrived at Target. The good news was the pharmacy was closed for lunch. So I headed for the Target Cafe. It gave me a chance to get re-hydrated.

When the pharmacy opened they couldn't find my scripts. It took a bit but they were filed under my first name. Ha-ha...that's what I get for having 2 last names!

Armed with my prescriptions and a few items I took the bus home. Man! I hope I don't get sick like that any time soon!

FAMILY BUSINESS!! IS YOUR FAMILY RUINING YOUR HAPPINESS?

I shared my mother's marriage advice on Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life: Share Your Marriage Advice last July.

Like my momma said, "If you want me to sit at your dinner table tomorrow don't tell me what stupid thing your husband did."

Menu Plan Monday ~ February 27, 2012

My adorable husband kissed me on the lips and gave me a nasty cold last week! I'm still not feeling well today. But I did manage to get up today, walk around and even do some light housework. Than I needed to go back to bed.

I attended the Yahoo Oscars online chat while watching the Oscars Backstage Pass. The Oscars Backstage Pass had cameras in the Press Room, Camera Room, and on the audience. It actually made the event more entertaining.

I took advantage of some terrific meat sales at Von's a couple of weeks ago so there's still meat in the freezer. ex: a 20 lb ham for $13!

Enough about that! Now onto this week's menu plan hosted by Organizing Junkie.

Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes

Black-eyed Peas, Brown Rice

Pork Chops, Mixed Green Salad, Lady & Sons Macaroni and Cheese

Beef Hot Dogs, Whole Wheat Buns, Ranch Beans

Fish & Chips

IHOP National Pancake Day is Tomorrow! Get a Free Stack of Buttermilk Pancakes!

I just love IHOP pancakes! They're so light and fluffy. And tomorrow is their annual National Pancake Day.

Enjoy a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. In return for the free pancakes, IHOP is asking guests to consider leaving a donation for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other designated local charities.

we're having homemade waffles

Looking Back at Marcus Growing Up: Turning 20 Years Old

Parenting Marcus has been rewarding, a honor and exhausting experience.
When people told us it would get easier when he turned 5 years I thought "Okay"! We worried about his personal safety, education and was he getting enough exercise.
He played soccer, basketball at the Boys & Girls Club, and flag football. During the summers he went to summer camp for tennis, golf and art lessons. We worked hard so that he had this opportunity.
Raising Marcus in San Diego was a fantastic opportunity. He went to the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park museums many times. My husband use to take him on free Tuesdays to San Diego National History Museum. It quickly became their favorite place to go on my husband's day off.
He attended private and public schools before being homeschooled. We introduced him to the theater, musicals, art and volunteerism at an early age.
Now that our baby is no longer a teen I do tear up a little bit.
We love you Marcus aka The Bacon Eating Kid! Happy Birthday "Little One"!
