Save Time and Money By Planning Your Meals

Save Time And Money By Planning Your Meals

Menu planning has really been helpful in our house. It saves us money, we eat healthier and even have fun making meals at home.

For those of you who still are on the fence about menu planning I wanted to recommend this free menu planning tips, printable shopping list and menu planner.

Oven Thermometer: Where Have You Been All My Life?!

While watching an episode of America's Test Kitchen they discussed the importance of oven thermometers. Apparently many oven temps can be off by 5-20 degrees over time!

We've been noticing that our oven temp was running high so off I went to Target to buy one!

$8 later we discovered our oven temp is 10 degrees hotter then we thought! No more burnt biscuits!

Cross Stitch Project Complete!

I've been admiring several Etsy craft people who take their cross stitch projects, place them in hoops, decorate and sell them.

I decided to give it go with one of my cross stitch project.

I just glued some decorative Martha Stewart ribbon to the side of the hoop. Then I made a loop with this leftover chocolate brown ribbon.

Not bad for a novice!

Rediscovering My Thrift Store Top ~ $2.99

I was rearranging my closet when I came across this multi-color print top that I purchased last month.

And since it's in the low 70's and sunny I thought I would wear it today!

Rediscovering Cross Stitch: Me Time!

For several weeks I've been thinking of taking up cross stitch again. It was a blessing when I was in rehab recovering from a car accident. It kept my brain busy, helped me redevelop my hand-eye coordination. And I was able to create something beautiful.

This box of floss was given to me by my sister-in-law.

Create Your Own Scrapbook Album: Me & My Big Ideas

I purchased a Create Your Own Album by Me & My Big Ideas from Big Lots, for $3, last year. And today, I felt inspired to assembly and create the album.

With this kit you are able to design an album to your liking. I realy did have so much fun this afternoon.

I hope Big Lots still has some more album kits available!

Menu Plan Monday ~ March 5, 2012

On Tuesday, Marcus 6, 2012, I'm planning on attending the CNN Election Roundtable at 9am PT, online. As a political junkie I thought this would be an unique opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Our family prays for those affected by the tornadoes and snow storms in several states. Those of you that live in the areas please continue to stay safe.

Now, onto this week's menu plan. Thank you to Organizing Junkie and Suzy QT Pie for hosting their weekly menu plan parties!

Einstein Bagels and Coffee for Sunday Breakfast!

When I lived in Portland, Maine I used to love starting or ending my week off with a cup of Green Mountain Roasters Hazelnut coffee ~ extra cream, and a pumpernickel bagel ~toasted with cream cheese at a local shop!

That's what I was imagining when I took my first bite of my toasted bagel. My husband woke Marcus and I up with the smell of coffee and fresh Einstein Brothers bagels this Sunday morning!

What a beautiful morning spent with the family. Yummy~!
