I Still Enjoy Ironing! Do You?

There's not a lot of call for business attire these days. When Geico announced they were going to have business casual our dry cleaning bill was cut in half in the late '90s. When my husband worked for Hilton he wore a dress shirt and tie. I would spend the weekend ironing his shirts for the week. Unless I sent his shirts out to be laundered and starched. :) When I worked at home most of my clothes didn't require ironing. Let's face it the iron wasn't getting much use during those years! Now that my husband is working for the bus company his work shirts require ironing. And I'm starting to purchase clothes that need it too! I still enjoy ironing after 40+ years! I love the smell of the light starch as I run the iron across a shirt. And seeing and hearing the steam as I press my hubby's work shirts is always a thrill.

Homemade Waffles All Around !

I love making waffles from scratch using my old Betty Crocker Big Red Cookbook. So, now that I have a new version I thought I would give this newer waffle recipe a try. Our wafflemaker will be 16 years old this year and it still does an amazing job! Thanks Jean for the wedding gift! Check out the vintage egg beater and measuring spoons that my husband purchased from a thrift shop. We love using them. (even our son) We purchased Our wafflemaker 16 years ago from Williams-Sonoma. It still does an amazing job!

Online Window Shopping for Thermal Curtains !

This will be our third summer spent in this apartment so I've finally decided to purchase a pair of quality thermal curtains for the master bedroom.

Now comes the hard part, finding a color or pattern curtain that the hubby and I can live with. To make shopping more difficult my husband isn't that thrilled it's a thermal curtain. He hates dark rooms. But when it's 100+ degrees neither of us wants to walk into that bedroom with our current curtains.

So, I headed back to Country Curtains to see what they have to offer. I've been purchasing curtains from them since I first set up house. Matter of fact, I still have our first pair of tiers and valance.
1st purchase hanging in our laundry room

Click, click...I've selected some sample fabrics to be mailed to me. Once I receive them I'll show them to the hubby so we can place our order. I really want to have those curtains hung before summer!

Sunday: Jumping Tandem

There's an old saying, "You can't paddle another man's canoe for him."

It's time for our adult child to learn how to paddle.
