Vintage Metal High School Laboratory Drafting Stool was available at Gallivanting Girls at Etsy.
My husband and I would love to have 3 of these stools for the kitchen counter. Then I saw this one. The description said that the store had 3 of them!
Now they've been sold. That's what I get for waiting.

Big Lots Finds for March 2012

Today's Big Lots shopping trip was under $25. It appeared that they had just been restocked so I made a bee line to the bread rack. I was able to pick up Jewish Rye, Potato Hot Dog buns and Whole Wheat bread, each around $1.40.

5 Minutes for Mom: Wordless Wednesday ~ March 28, 2012

I do miss Portland, Maine sometimes...the brick sidewalks, old homes, the smells of autumn. The town I met my husband. The town where Marcus, our son, was born 20 years ago.

Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market Ground Beef Swap

Courtesy of Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market stores Facebook. At Fresh & Easy, we're committed to quality. We have never, would never and will never use the ammonia-treated filler known as “pink slime” in our ground beef. If you’re worried about what’s in the ground beef you bought from another retailer, we invite you to our “Pink Slime Swap Meat” this Wednesday, March 28th. You can bring fresh or frozen ground beef from a competitor to any Fresh & Easy and exchange it for a package of fresh&easy (80/20) ground beef* – no questions asked.
We grind all of our own meat, using only fresh, never frozen beef – it’s that simple. In fact, all of our products are made with the highest quality ingredients, and contain no artificial colors or flavors, high fructose corn syrup or added trans fats. So come on over and swap your meat with us. See you Wednesday! For more information, visit http://freshandeasy.com/Content/pdfs/PinkSlimeSwapMeatFAQ.pdf
*Equivalent to the amount being returned up to 2lbs. Limit one pack per person, while supplies last. Check your local store for hours (http://freshandeasy.com/WhereWeAre).

Organization: Scrapbook Supplies and Tools

After shredding the check duplicates I found myself with some empty boxes! So, why not organize my scrapbook supplies and tools?!
It took me about an hour to sort through my papers, tools, ribbons, ect.
Now I will know where things are because of the labels.
It's nice when you can reuse things.

March is National Craft Month

I just need to head to the dollar store for supplies! I'll be posting photos after I get my tree done!

Menu Plan Monday ~ March 26, 2012

Dine Without Whine - A Family Friendly Weekly Menu Planner
Monday started off with our next door neighbor being robbed this morning! I realize that we need to put in some security devices for the windows. Also, the home inventory project that I've been putting off needs to get done!
My husband made an amazing Pulled Pork on Saturday. We had stopped by Williams-Sonoma, saw their Pulled Pork Starter and decided to give it a try. We served it on Southern Buttermilk Biscuits. It was a home run! The starter isn't diabetic approved so the next time he prepares it will be a special treat.
Thanks to Organizing Junkie for hosting Menu Plan Monday weekly linky party! Now onto this week's menu plan! Lemon Butter Chicken, Rice, Mixed Greens Salad********* Crock pot Cilantro Lime Chicken ***Pinto Beans, Brown Rice ***Beef Tacos, Black Beans***
Crock pot Pineapple Pepper Chicken, Brown Rice*** Meatball Sandwiches

Our Next Door Neighbor Got Robbed This Morning!

As soon as I walked in to the apartment our son informed me that the North Las Vegas police were at our door asking questions about a robbery this morning!
I guess it's time to purchase some security devices for the windows this week.

Discovering the Secrets of Vinegar!

I'm finally taking the plunge into creating homemade cleaners. And I decided to start with vinegar! So far, I've used it to clean our coffeemaker with fantastic tasting results! I then moved onto the using vinegar as a dishwasher rinse. The dishes shine and I noticed less spots! Tomorrow, who knows what will be my next adventure!

Organizing Project: Shredded Old Check Stubs

When I finally decided to start this project I had no idea it would take place over 3 days.
This is the results of shredding duplicate checks from 1995 to 2002. Note to self: don't wait so long to do your shredding!

Invisible Wounds: PTSD and Major Depression Disorder

Our son, Marcus asked me to share this video regarding Major Depression Disorder and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) amongst our military veterans.

As a sufferer of Major Depression Disorder I can't find the words to describe the deep rooted depression that I felt for many years.  It wasn't till I was committed to a mental institution in April 2010, after a suicide attempt, properly medicated, that I found relief.

Please watch this video and if you know someone who is suffering please help them.
