Miss Mustard Seed Furniture Friday ~ April 27, 2012
My husband purchased this bedframe from a Goodwill Store over 20 years ago, for $5!
When we got married he spray painted it a dark green. As you can see the years are showing.
Sometimes he'll ask me if I would like to replace it but to me it's very much part of our marriage.
This week, we celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary!
Anniversary Flowers From My Big Daddy!

"Living Well with a Hidden Disablity: Transending Doubts and Shame and Reclaiming Your Life" Stacy Taylor
Here's an excellent book that is written for those of us who suffer from hidden illnesses, such as, Fibromyalgia, migraines, Lupus, and mental disorders that's actually informative, interactive and helpful.
One of the things I learned from reading this book is to share my condition with my dentist. At this year's cleaning I advised them of my back and neck pain. The dentist and his staff were very accommodating. They encouraged me to take breaks and stretch. 4 hours later, I was able to walk out of the dentist office without waddling.
There are tons of helpful suggestions about how to deal with parenting, relationships, friendships and work. Many will also find Chapter 2: The Stages of Grief ~ Working Toward Acceptance extremely beneficial. I do! Despite going through the grief process with a therapist 9 years ago with every diagnosis I've had to go through it again!
If you're suffering, spouse or caregiver of someone suffering from a hidden disability I definitely recommend that this book become part of your personal library!
Happy Anniversary Big Daddy!
I was so surprised when my husband decided to take the day off today. He really does work hard sometimes working when he's sick. But as soon as he hung up the phone he gave me a kiss and said "Happy Anniversary baby". Whee!
After lunch we went for a nice walk in our neighborhood.
We held hands, laughed and acted goofy...all the way home!
Yes Marcus, Those Are Pickled Pigs Feet!
I love shopping at our local Mexican market!
We saw beef tongue, chicken feet, goat heads along side chicken breast, in the meat department.

"Katy" Has Arrived! Different Colors and Style
It's getting hotter and that means it's time for shorter wigs. This time I decided a different colors and style.
Luxurious Hair Boutique always wraps the wigs and products in tissue paper. It definitely adds to anticipation of opening the box!
This is Katy, from the Soultress line, color: ST4/273, medium brown, honey blonde, light auburn
Her texture is soft to touch. I love the soft curls and waves.
I just need to shake it, put her on and go! Now that's a summer wig!

Mom, Dinner Time Does Not Have to Be Stressful.
Saturday, I stopped by Smart and Final to take advantage of the pork loin roast that was on sale! I served it with mixed greens salad.
Herbed Pork Roast courtesy of Allrecipes
"A combination of dry herbs gives pork an out-of-this-world flavor! This wonderful, moist roast is a family favorite-and it makes great company fare, too."
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons dried marjoram
2 teaspoons rubbed sage
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 (5 pound) boneless pork loin roast
Directions:
1. Combine the first seven ingredients; rub over roast. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
2. Place roast on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake, uncovered, at 325 degrees for 2-1/2 hours or until a meat thermometer reads 160-170 degrees. Let stand for 15 minutes before slicing. Refrigerate or freeze remaining pork (may be frozen for up to 3 months).

Jumping Tandem Sundays ~ The Past Sixteen Years of Marriage
In celebration of our anniversary, I share with you the vows I said to my husband at our renewal ceremony in October 2008.
Update to reflect 16 yrs of marriage:
"The past 16 years have been an adventure, a comfort, a gift. You became more of a best friend to me each and every day, and I'm so grateful to you for all that you do, for all that we'll share in the future, and for the things that I've learned and continue to learn with you everyday. I offer you my heart now and onward in the future as your loving and faithful partner. I still do love, honor and cherish you, and I always will!"
