Help Raise $1000 for The Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Association

In honor of National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, Allsup, a Social Security Disablity Representation Service will donate $1, up to $1,000, to the National Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Association, for each of the first 1,000 people to “like”Allsup’s Facebook page and post a message, “I’m making fibromyalgia visible by ” on its wall during the entire month of May.

It's National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day!

I had been suffering from numerous nerve pain issues since 2000 so when the doctor diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia in 2009, I thought "About time but now what?!" At this time Fibromyalgia doesn't have the huge corporate sponsors and media coverage like breast cancer but I believe our time will come. Did you know that studies have shown that, in some cases Fibromyalgia sufferers who reduce their intake of sugars, processed foods and caffeine have stated they feel better? I can definitely testify to that since I have incorporated many of the diet suggestions since last August! (click here for more about the Fibro diet) In my 12 year pain journey, I have battled severe depression, attempted suicide, lost my hair, went through opioid withdraws, quit working and completed the grieving process numerous times! Today, I've chosen to manage my Fibromyalgia symptoms through homeopathic and alternative methods. I've finally found a sense of calmness in my life amongs…

The Pool is Open! Whee!

It's going to be hitting 100 degrees next week so I'm thrilled that the pool renovations are complete. And I've been doing water aerobic exercises, that I found on YouTube, for the last 3 days! Then I finish with a soak in the hot tub! Source: youtube.com via Rona on Pinterest I get my heart rate up with these power jumping jacks!

Must-See Video: A Football Star's Daddy Drama

As a mom to a 20 year old son I have to share with you one of my biggest fears.  My son becoming a "baby's daddy"!  I hate those words!! Let's just say drama.  I'll have to share with you my son's views on this subject in another post.

So when I see young black males like Terrill Owens and Warren Sapp screaming for relief from their child support for multiple kids to multiple women, I want to shake them...very hard!

First of all, my heart goes out to everyone involved in this mess! Let's start with Terrell...no positive male role models in his life. He spoke about his absent father. And yes, he's doing the same thing with his kids. The women. Let's get up, get to work ladies at economizing. Those big checks won't be coming anymore. Let's also start making sure we have positive males in our children's lives!  Terrill may not have it in him to be a Dad.  Time will tell.

Warren Sapp is paying his ex-wife $60,000 alimony and chil…

Jumping Tandem Sundays: Patience

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Psalm 27:14) Throughout my 12 year chronic pain journey I've reminded myself of the importance of Patience. That's why the book of Psalm is my favorite!

Our Movie Review of "Bridesmaids"

Last night, the hubby and I decided to watch "Bridesmaids" starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ellie Kemper, and Melissa McCarthy on DVD. In case you don't know the synopsis of this movie it goes like this. Annie, starring Kristen Wiig, is named her best friend Lillian, starring Maya Rudolph, maid of honor. Annie's competition is Helen, starring Rose Byrne, who's wealthy, beautiful and seems to have it all going on. Along the way to the wedding, Annie's down-on-her-luck life gets worst. Charles and I found ourselves fast forwarding throughout this movie. There's lots of needless conversation going on and bad jokes. On a positive side we loved Melissa McCarthy's character, Megan. She has the best scenes in the movie! So, to wrap this up, this isn't a $10 bucket of popcorn movie and not even worth popping a bowl of Orville Redenbacher movie theater popcorn, at home!
