CHAD AND EVELYN JOHNSON! YOUR THOUGHTS?!!!

Shanda, Shanda Says, shares her feelings about the headbutting incident with Evelyn and Chad Johnson, Basketball Wives.  She speaks about having more than love and passion when selecting a husband.   (like being his friend)
Me?  I hated hearing this about any couple.  I pray that they make the best decisions, with clear heads.

Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life: Front Porch/Patio

This week, Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life home tour pick is front porches and patios. Now we have an apartment patio that Dave, the African Jasmine plant, is located. It's a small area. We also keep a cooler and a collapsible hanger out there for wet swimsuits and towels. Here's just a few of my dream porches and patios. I know Dave would be happy to call any of these spots home!

Miss Mustard Seed: Furniture Feature Friday

I just love the re-do of this piece. Lucy Turner has taken a mid-century furniture with the use of laser cut Formica laminate. She adds humor by applying fun shapes such as pineapples, tulips and flamingos to chests of drawers and dressing tables, resulting in fabulous one off items with a fun, retro feel. Thanks to Miss Mustard Seed for hosting Furniture Feature Fridays.

"How Did Marcus Get the Nickname, Bacon Eating Kid" ?

"How did Marcus get the nickname~Bacon Eating Kid"? is a question that comes up from time to time. And you know what? I've never answered it till now.
bacon candy~ It was actually a couple of events that happened when Marcus was very little. One episode occurred at a breakfast. Marcus was around 2 yrs old, grabbed some bacon off of someone's plate, started stuffing one piece after another in his mouth and started choking. We quickly started patting his back and gave him some water. He then motioned that he wanted more!

a bacon pillow given to Marcus for Valentine's Day~ Another situation was when 1/2 a pound of bacon for a breakfast and a couple of recipes before leaving for work. I later called my husband and mentioned the cooked bacon that was sitting on the counter. He told me there wasn't any bacon just a plate! Mmm...it appeared our little Marcus had eaten the bacon. My husband's response was "That boy sure loves his bacon"! I learned that I could never leave precooked bacon unattended!
The Bacon Eating Kid kicking back in his room~ Shortly after that we started calling him "Bacon Eating Kid" and it stuck!

Please Support Me in the Conquer Chiari Walk Across America,

I'm walking in support of our friend, Christine Smith, event host and Chiari sufferer, on September 22, 2012, Saturday, Las Vegas. This chronic pain condition is rare and can be fatal. As a fellow chronic pain sufferer it will take money to fund research in hopes to find a cure. Please help me by making a donation, in any amount you would like. Thank you.

Still Looking for a Natural Floor Cleaner ~ Any Suggestions?

I've been using scrubbing powder and water to clean my old kitchen vinyl floors, in our apartment and it does a pretty good job at cleaning the grease and dirt. But I would like to use something natural. If you have any cleaning recipes I would love it if you shared.
I've tried vinegar but it just doesn't clean the floors.

Hidradenitis Suppurativa Sufferers ~ You're Not Alone

I've actually been a sufferer of the condition since my mid-20's but like many I didn't discuss it much because I was embarrassed. I didn't even tell my husband about it till we moved in together because I couldn't hide it from him.
Hidradenitis Suppurativa is a chronic form of acne. The breakouts are painful and can be triggered by stress, humidity, or hormonal changes. The outbreaks typically occur in armpits and private areas. I usually can keep the breakouts to a minimum by taking 1000mgs of Vitamin C, reducing my stress and watching my daily caffeine intake. But when I have a severe one(s) I head to the doctor for a prescription of antibiotics.
Check out the Facebook online support group. They're very active and informative. I also found a few websites that you may find helpful. Here's just a few:

My Brain Fog Solution: Daily To Do List

After I forgot an important message for my husband I decided to have a daily schedule versus a to-do list. (thanks Mandi) It would be nice if it was pretty and incorporated a place for blessing, phone messages, notes, etc.
I also use mine to track my supplements~haven't missed any dosages lately! Afterwards, I hole punch them and place them in my household management binder. I can't tell you how many times I've needed a phone number or info for myself or the family. I hope you find this solution helpful~I do!
