5 Minutes for Mom Pin It Friday ~ "My Marriage Still Rocks"

I've shared this story before but I love repeating it. When I wear "My Husband Rocks" t-shirt while out with the hubby, men would pat my husband on the back or want to give him a high-five! I actually wore the shirt till it fell apart! And I've been meaning to replace it. In the meantime, here's just a few of Union 28's marriage support theme t-shirts! Enjoy! I Have an October Foodie Penpal!

I discovered the Foodie Penpal program hosted by Lean Green Bean while visiting another blogger last month.

Here's the highlights of the box contents: You fill a box of food-theme things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. You must also include something written, like a recipe or note.

It looked like lots of fun so I signed up and forgot about it! This morning, I received an email stating, "I'm Your October Food Penpal"! Now it's all coming back to me!

I looked for an email from Lean Green Bean, in my inbox, and now know who my Foodie Penpal is! I've sent her my introduction email and am awaiting her reply. Then I'll be off to do some shopping!

A Reminder: You Matter!

Did You Know About Tide Dry Cleaner Stores?

Source: Uploaded by user via Emily on Pinterest My husband mentioned that he saw a Tide Dry Cleaner location while driving one of his bus routes today. "When did Tide start opening dry cleaner stores"? I said. So I decided to go to Tide's official website, searched and guess what? They do offer the the stores as a franchise opportunity. More About Chronic Pain, Depression and Coping Skills

Source: iwastesomuchtime.com via Matthew on Pinterest ACA - Chronic Pain and Depression

It is thought to be 3 to 4 times more common in people with chronic pain than in the general population!  Yes, as a favorite therapist of mine said "Chronic pain and depression go hand in hand".

And with knowing that one has to develop daily coping skills.  Over the years, that includes face to face, phone and biblical therapy.  I've also joined a few online support groups this year.  All of these have been very helpful at keeping my deep depression at bay.

Oh, and don't forget to mention your depression to your primary or pain management specialist.  There are anti-depressants that might be able to help.

5 Minutes for Mom Wordless Wednesday ~ October 3, 2012

I asked my son to purchase a large cabbage at the grocery store. This was the largest one they had!

The results of the drought I guess.

Hubby Please Make An Apple Tart!

My husband loves to cook or bake on his days off. The apple tart was delicious for our breakfast!

Missing The Fall Foliage in Maine

While living in the state of Maine I came to truly appreciate the fall foliage every year! It was like God took his paint brush across the trees!

When I moved to San Diego, that first year, I cried so much that a friend took a leaf, iron it between 2 pieces of wax paper and sent it to me! It truly lifted my spirits!

These days I can see from these photos how beautiful a Maine fall foliage can be...without having to rake the leaves! Source: b.love2bnmaine.com via 2bnMaine on Pinterest Source: google.com via Joanne on Pinterest Source: flickr.com via Cheryl on Pinterest Source: google.com via Chris on Pinterest

Menu Plan Monday ~ October 1, 2012

I decided to not attend the Blogalicious 2012 due to a pain flareup. Sometimes those things just can't be help.

Did you see Call the Midwife, on PBS, last night? I just loved it and look forward to watching a new episode next Sunday! Check out this article on the premiere.

The 1st episode is available on PBS. Thanks to Organizing Junkie for hosting Menu Plan Mondays! Call the Midwife Starts Tonight! Sunday, Sept. 30, 8PM EST/PST

Watch Call the Midwife - Preview on PBS. See more from Call the Midwife. If you've been following me for awhile you may notice that I have a thing for British TV programs. I'm not sure why that's the case but it is.

Call the Midwife is one that I've been wanting to see since PBS started promoting it. The show is based on memoirs of Jennifer Worth, a midwife during the 1950's in the very poor East End London.

While typing this my husband asked me, "Isn't Call the Midwife on tonight"? I guess I'm not the only one who wants to see it!
