Bringing More Attention to Rasmussen's Encephalitis

I never heard of Rasmussen's Encephalitis or R.E. before this HuffPost Live segment. Have you? Children suffer from severe and frequent seizures and possible brain damage that aren't controlled by anti-epileptic medication. Per Dr. Gary Mathern the disease affects 2 out of 2 million children.

And when I heard that the current treatment is to remove half the brain I was like many people, shocked beyond belief! But in the young girl, who was on the segment, it's greatly improved her life.

After watching please feel free to share the video or link with your followers.

Happy Valentine's Day from BerryMorins Bits & Tips!

Here's the card I gave my hubby today! Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day Dinner Ideas @Pinterest 2013

My husband wants to take me to out for a steak dinner. I love that idea but for the price of drinks, dinner and dessert I can splurge on a home cooked dinner. And still have money for a nice dress and shoes!

Menu Plan Monday ~ February 11, 2013

While we were watching Downton Abbey last night my husband turned to me and said, "Oh, this is going to be so good"! when he noticed Bates taking notice to the disruption amongst the Thomas, James and Alfred. No further spoilers here!

Snow has hit the east coast big time! I hope that, today everyone is safe and warm.

Thank you to Organizing Junkie for hosting Menu Plan Monday.

My Hometown Got Slammed With Snow!

Mainers are a hearty bunch but even they have their limits. It was reported that Portland, Maine received 31.9 inches by 1pm EST, Saturday. (it was a new record)

When Marcus and I moved to San Diego, in April 1994, it was 30 below temps, in Portland, ME! When we landed in San Diego, we were greeted to 80 degrees! Whoo Hoo! It definitely makes me realize how much I love living on the west coast!

Valentine's Day Nails @Pinterest 2013

Getting one's nails done has definitely changed thanks to gel polishes, new colors and techniques! So if you want to give yourself a Valentine's Day treat consider a manicure. No calories!

Jumping Tandem Sunday: "We Long to Be Healed"

Last month, I attended Inside Chatter, a Women of Faith webinar, last month. That's when I heard Sheila Walsh speak. Her words resonated with me that evening. I decided to Google her, found a series of her books.

This one stood out, The Heartache No One Sees. Source: hermeyjdi.wordpress.com via Kimber on Pinterest

"It took me a long time to be able to receive God's love, to believe that His love is as constant on my bad days as on my ducks-in-a-row days. I believe it now with all my heart and soul." Sheila Walsh

Powerful words for those of suffering from a broken heart and soul! I pray that you shall feel the healing hands of the Heavenly Father on you!

Thank you to Jumping Tandem for hosting Sunday!

Marcus' First Computer: It's Arrived from Office Depot!

Marcus took some of his financial aid funds, we headed to Office Depot and bought a Lenovo H430 Desktop Computer 3rd Gen Intel® Core™ i5 Processor! But because Office Depot didn't have any available we opted for home delivery. As Courtland, assistant, was processing the order I asked that the delivery charge be waived! (which they did)

The computer was to be delivered on Wed but Office Depot called to say there was a delay. It would be delivered on Thursday, between 8am-11am.

Thursday morning, we had barely finished our coffee when the house phone rang. It was the Office Depot delivery driver, the truck was in the area and would be at home within minutes!

Marcus was quick to get his new Lenovo tower setup in his room. I don't think he's going to need to purchase another computer tower any time soon!

A Sunday Walk With My Baby!

It's breezy and chilling in Las Vegas. Of course those on the east coast have it worst. We actually had a few days of high 60's. It's just Mother Nature playing with us. So, I'm glad I didn't move my long sleeve shirts to the back of the closet!

Cloudy afternoon walk with my baby!

No kids at the playground today. (too cold)

The neighborhood that we chose to walk through butts up next this fenced in area. I think it's part of Nellis AFB.
