He's Hired! Marcus Has A Job !

We enjoy shopping at our local Smart & Final. The store has a friendly staff, who greet us by name!

A couple of weeks ago, Charles and I were there, one of the cashiers asked us if Marcus was still interested in a part time job! My husband said, "Yes, he'll be here in a hour"!

Today, Marcus started his first day of training. As parents, we're thrilled he'll be able to make a financial contribution to his schooling. Another benefit, we love having the place to ourselves! Whee!

Date Night Idea: Taking a Walk Together

Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life topic of the week is Date Night. One of the things my husband and I really enjoy doing is taking a walk. It's zero cost, healthy and great for reducing stress.

Home Depot: Window Shopping for Paint Supplies

My husband and I stopped by Home Depot for white paint and supplies. After 3 years, living in our apartment, some of the rooms need to be repainted.

Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life: Date Night Ideas

This week's topic at Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life is Date Night Ideas. When our son was younger it was always an issue finding appropriate child care for him. We would actually take the day off, go out for lunch or an early dinner, while he was in school. Once my husband even surprised me with a whale watching cruise!

heading out to see "Skyfall"

Now that our son is grown, and we're on a limited budget, our date nights are a treat! Last year, my husband and I actually went to the movies, after not going for 3 years! We actually ask each other, "Is this a $10 bucket of popcorn worthy movie"?

We also like to go out to dinner but again, we keep it infrequent so that it still feels special!

For a no cost date idea, we love to go window shopping. I usually have my camera and enjoy taking photos of things we like. Target, Home Depot, Big Lots are just a few of our favorite stores.

I look forward to seeing other Show Us Your Life Date Night Ideas!

Don't Let Fear Stop You From Living

A reminder for me to not let my chronic pain and physical restrictions stop me from really living.

My Twitter Party Prize: Barilla Spaghetti

My prize from the Barilla Spaghetti Twitter party arrived today! I actually got a phone call from the ladies, in the apartment complex office, after FedEX dropped it off! The box actually smelled like candy! Marcus immediately took a knife to the box, opened it up in search of something sweet.

Thank you Barilla!

I'm Back in The Job Search!

I'm in a much better place with my chronic pain. So recently, my husband and I spoke about me returning to work. We've decided that I would look at the returning to work at home customer service. part time only!

I would like to pay for regular massages and chiropractic sessions without putting a strain on our limited budget.

So I dusted off my resume, updated my contacts and stopped by Rat Race Rebellion and Workplace Like Home for job leads.

Tomorrow, I have an phone interview for a part time customer support position! Wish me luck. Whoo Hoo!

Montel Williams Speaks About Taking Responsiblity of Your Chronic Illness

Montel Williams joins HuffPostLive to discuss his years of battling multiple sclerosis, and why he feels that chronic illness will eventually bankrupt the US!

Mr. Williams shares horrible statistics, 75% of our population is overweight or obese. He also promotes taking responsibility of one's health care. I don't think it will surprise anyone that he mentions the importance of proper diet and reduction of stress!

He recommends the Internet and public library for researching natural treatments. I've discovered lots of helpful information for living better with my chronic pain and Major Depression. I'm actually looking forward to returning to work soon! Whoo Hoo!

Last note: Montel does support the legalization of medical marijuana.

Italian Herb Bread: Our First Try at Baking Bread

Here's the Italian Herb Bread recipe!

Marcus started the loaf by mixing the yeast, sugar and warm water, in a bowl. Then setting the bowl aside for 5 minutes.

He then added the rest of the ingredients, stirred them together until the dough was stiff. After shaping it and letting it rest this is what we have!

I placed the loaf, on our baking stone, in a 350 degree oven for about 25 minutes. We let it cool and then enjoyed slices of warm bread! We'll definitely be baking bread again!
