A New Addition to My Home Office: Dandelion Wall Decal

I've been wanting to add a Dandelion Wall Decal to my home office wall for a couple of years. So when I won a $25 Amazon gift code a few weeks ago I decided to treat myself!

My other decorating plans, for the office, include getting slipcover for my big chair, a new lamp shade and curtains. I'm thinking neutral colors so that the space can appear more open.

Green Mountain Coffee ~ Starting the Morning Off With An Old Friend

Whenever I have a cup of Green Mountain Coffee I'm reminded of my favorite restaurant, in Portland, Maine, called 'Little Miss Muffin'. Their muffins were moist, bursting with warm blueberries and not too sweet. They would serve it with a hot cup of Green Mountain Hazelnut coffee! what a wonderful way to start my day!

When I was dating my husband, I got him into a love affair with Green Mountain Coffee! We used to meet, downtown Portland, grab a cup to go and sit at Monument Square to do some people watching.

Can you believe that was over 25 years ago! And yet, those good memories coming rushing back, with every cup! I'm so thrilled we're able to get our favorite coffee in Vegas!

Vegan Cooking For Carnivores: Over 125 Recipes So Tasty You Won't Miss The Meat by Roberto Martin

I'm totally enjoying this cookbook by Roberto Martin, personal chef to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, that I picked up at the library. Roberto has created comforting foods that his clients and non-vegans would love.

I've been noting several recipes that I would like to try! For example, the Potato-Leek Soup sounds very flavorful and indulgent with *herb oil. (*there's a recipe in the book)

The book has given me incorporating more delicious salad recipes into my menu plan. (especially with the hot summer nipping at our heels)

This is a beautiful book, as well, the food photos will make your tummy grumble! Mine sure did!

I Hear She's Going Back to Work ?

Yes! It's official. I've accepted a part time work at home offer!

This will give me the funds to continuing to pursuing a health and wellness approach to treating my chronic pain issues! (chiropractor, massage therapist, health and wellness coach)

And I'll still have time to participate in Twitter parties! And occasionally commenting on HuffPostLive segments.

Wall Street Journal Article: Blog Conferences Appeal to Women With a Guilt-Free, Child-Free Reason to Leave Home

I watched the HuffPostLive segment, read Katherine Stone's Apology blog post and the Wall Street Journal piece. All said and done, what I came away with is that Katie Rosman, WSJ, wanted to show the increase in the relationship of brands and mom bloggers through blog conferences.

In her article, she focus on BlogHer and Yoga Journal conferences. Of course it didn't help things when Elana Maggal, Yoga Journal's conference director is quoted saying, "It's a fun and educational thing to do for people who are married with children and need a legitimate reason to leave home," For some reason they decided to put a spin on it by commenting and depicting on how women are cutting loose, being released from their child care duties and hitting the mini bar!

So I guess we can see why many mom and dad bloggers aren't happy with the Wall Street Journal right now! Even Katherine Stone, who is quoted in the article, posted an apology to mom and dad bloggers!

Now, in defense of Katie, there are many commenters who found no fault with her article.

FLGirlinCA: I'm a working mom (of two small children under the age of 5) who works out of a home office. I found nothing about this article to be chauvinistic. In fact, I was shaking my head in agreement as I read the article.

As for me, I think it was smart of WSJ. They'll eventually get lots of buzz and traffic from the article!

My Twitter Prize: Whirlpool 2020

In January, I attended the Whirlpool 2020 Twitter party and won a $50 American Express card. When it arrived, over the weekend, the hubby and I decided to head to Big Lots and do some shopping!

We purchased 3 loaves of Oroweat bread~$2 each, Dove and Zest bar soap~$2 each, and other pantry and cleaning items!

I also want to give a shout out to the many Mom and Dad bloggers for hosting Twitter parties! They're fun to attend, you can network, learn about new products and services and of course, win awesome prizes!

The Pioneer Woman:My Favorite Meatloaf Recipe

The Pioneer Woman's Meatloaf recipe is my family's favorite! I usually serve it with mashed potatoes and another vegetable.

It's also wonderful the next, for leftovers and meatloaf sandwiches!

Menu Plan Monday ~ April 29, 2013

We spent Saturday, April 20 to 25, offline! It was wonderful to re-focus on more important tasks, like my cross stitch, re-organizing closets and the home office. I even read a few books, went to the public library and updated my library card!

Our son, Marcus, even hung out with us, watched TV, eat dinner at the table and had plenty of laughs and conversation!

My husband caught up on some TV programs that he had been meaning to watch. We also had fun cooking and shopping together!

So what did we learn from our 'disconnect from the Internet' experience? ~Take time to cut off the computer, walk away and enjoy our lives!

Falafel Sandwiches

Pioneer Woman's Meatloaf, Salad, Mashed Potatoes

Ham and Potato Cream Soup

Turkey Sandwiches

Roasted Chicken Thighs, Salad, Rice

Thanks to Organizing Junkie for hosting Menu Plan Monday!

Celadon Road Product Review: Lemon Mint Glass Cleaner

Disclosure: I was contacted by Amanda Arkans, Celadon Road consultant and asked to review the Lemon Mint Glass Cleaner. My opinion is completely honest and was not in any way affected by Celadon Road. Absolutely no monetary compensation was received for writing this post.

Celadon Road is dedicated to promoting greener, healthier and more socially responsible living by offering our customers the highest quality natural, eco-friendly products for their everyday needs.”

My Product Review: If you've been following my blog, for awhile, I've been sharing my discovery of natural cleaning products over the last year. Many chronic pain sufferers like myself, develop skin sensitivities over time. Also, using natural cleaners makes me feel better, doing something beneficial for Mother Earth.

Just check out these ingredients:

I used it on our glass patio doors and immediately fell in love in with the lemon mint scent. I found that it wiped off quickly left no streaks or haze on windows, mirrors, or my glass! It is also nice to know I can get some aromatherapy while cleaning.

Check out the lovely job it did on my glass work desk!

My son Marcus also tried the glass cleaner in his room. He immediately announced that this is the family's new glass cleaner! I totally agree with his assessment.

The Lemon Mint Glass Cleaner is available for $6 plus tax and shipping at Amanda's website. I recommend that you check out her website for this and other Celadon Road products

Celadon Road is also looking for more consultants! If you do sign up, please mention BerryMorins Bits & Tips !
