Baking Homemade Blueberry Muffins!

Our son purchased a large container of blueberries for me this week so I decided to make some blueberry muffins, from scratch. (my favorite kind)

So I broke out my faithful Betty Crocker Big Red Cookbook.

Don't they look delicious? After they cool off, I'll pack them up to give to my neighbors. Alright, maybe 1 or 2 muffins won't survive the trip.

#VisitCA Twitter Party Prize Has Arrived!

The FedEX delivery person showed up later than usual yesterday. And adding that I wasn't expecting any deliveries I was at a lost of what could be inside this box.

WooHoo. Looks like the #VisitCA California Tourism swag box has arrived. The twitter party was on July 22 so that's what I would call a very quick delivery. It will be fun digging into this.

It appears our son has gotten to it first. He advised me that he was the new owner of the baseball cap. That's fine since there's plenty of goodies for everybody.

A large tote bag, journal and pen,a CD, a few tour books and maps

more goodies!

I really like this speaker. It came with a USB connector too.

The huge towel will come in handy at the pool. And I've already called dibs on the water bottle!

It's Nice to Treat Yourself! Mani-Pedi

Last Friday, I treated myself to a manicure and Deluxe pedicure.

The addition of the paraffin dip, salt scrub and massage was wonderful. I felt so relaxed.

After looking a few nail salon magazines, I decided to spring for the nude gel polish, for my manicure. Once it dried, I noticed there's a bit of pink too. And I love it!

For my toes, I went with Essie Marshmallows. There's so many beautiful nude nail polish colors this season. Have you tried any of them?

Tuesday Dinner: Pioneer Woman Meatloaf, Sauteed Cabbage and Steamed Green Beans

I decided to use 2 pounds of ground chuck, diced onion and garlic powder in the Pioneer Woman Meatloaf recipe. The final result: Amazing

The sauteed cabbage was wicked easy. I just drizzle some extra virgin olive oil in a frying pan, added some diced onion, brown them and then added the sliced cabbage. Add some cracked black pepper and salt to taste.

I bought 2 pounds of organic green beans at Fresh & Easy on Friday. Thank goodness I started prepping them yesterday. (salads, snacks and dinner) All I had to do is steam them, and cool them in a bowl of cold water. Over all, it was a delicious meal.

Chronic Pain Sufferer: Hope And Recovery

During a rough therapy session, discussing my mental health history last year:

Afterwards my therapist asked what I thought about that girl. My response, "I'm a mess". Her reply, "God has a plan for you. 2 years later you're still here"!

Yes, I'm still here.

Nature Box Subscription Box Has Arrived! July 2013

When I got back from my walk the mail carrier informed me that he had a box for me. WooHoo!

In case you haven't heard of Nature Box, for $19.95, you receive 5 different full sized healthy snacks each month. (free shipping) You can pause or cancel your deliveries at any time!

I would highly recommend looking at Nature Box Facebook, Twitter or a blogger post for discount codes! I was able to save 50% through a Facebook ad.

This month's Nature Box has Country Ranch Sunflower Kernals, Garden Tomato Almonds, Whole Wheat Blueberry Figgy Bars, Big Island Pineapple, and Lemon Tea Biscuits.

I tried one of the Lemon Tea Biscuits. (Yes, just one) They have a light lemon taste, with just the right texture. Once my son and husband get a hold of these I doubt they'll be around for a day!

Volupties Subscription Box Has Arrived! July 2013

I first heard of Voluptieswhile reading Ramblings of a Suburban Mom monthly subscription box list.

Volupties offers an underwear subscription service for curvy ladies, for $12 a month. When you join, you provide your underwear size and each month you will receive 3 pairs of quality sexy underwear from well-known brands!

After I joined, I received an email advising me that my package would be processed and shipped within 7 days. Also, in the future, my shipments would be billed and shipped on or on the 15th of the month.

Here's how my Volupties package arrived in the mail today. The small plastic bag actually fit perfectly in our mailbox. A plus for me because I didn't have to stop by the apartment manager's office to pick it up.

I love pink tissue paper. I'll be adding the tissue paper to my Valentine's Day stash.

I've been in a 100% cotton brief slump for years! This selection of sexy underwear, that I received will make a welcome addition to my underwear coll…

Jumping Tandem Sunday: Celebrate How Far You've Come, Instead Of Focusing On How Far You Have To Go.

"Celebrate how far you've come, instead of focusing on how far you have to go". Joyce Meyer

This is similar to the words that I've frequently heard from therapists and doctors over my many years of living with chronic pain.

When I reflect on the past, I remember when I couldn't raise my left arm due to severe frozen shoulder. My balance was so bad that I used a cane to walk.

Yes, there have been many improvements over the years and I celebrate them all.

So today, I chose to focus on today instead of worrying about tomorrow!

So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:34

Join me at Sunday.

Travel Tips for Fibromyalgia and Chronic Illness ~ National Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Association

Here's an excerpt from the article:

An important note: if you are traveling with health-related medications, liquids, machines (such as a C-PAP unit) or with braces, canes, etc. you have certain rights and responsibilities to be able to travel with them as well as the declaration and handling of these items. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) can inform you and help you know what you need to do to travel by airplane. Go to http://www.tsa.gov/ for details.

Amtrak has information for travelers with disabilities including special rooms and cars for those who cannot negotiate the stairs on the cars. You can learn more at http://www.amtrak.com/.

Having fibromyalgia and having a good time are not mutually exclusive. Managing your condition as well as your trip will help you keep feeling good as well as have great memories of the wonderful time you had.
