Ramblings of a Suburban Mom

Today, Richard Cohen, author of 'Blindsided: Lifting a Life Above Illness: A Reluctant Memoir' has lived with MS for more than 25 yrs. Recently, he was diagnosed with colon cancer. Despite living with a chronic illness most of his life, he has not let it define him. He joined HuffPostLive to discuss how he found joy in life beyond his disease. It was my pleasure to watch this segment live.

"We are not victims. We are people". Mr. Cohen's comments were a great inspiration to me. Thank you Mr. Cohen.

Sad news for fans of 'Gilligan's Island'. Russell Johnson, who played the Professor on ‘Gilligan’s Island,’ died on Thursday. My husband and I were flicking the TV channels recently and caught "Gilligan's Island" on MeTV. We just looked at each other and laughed! Rest in peace Professor.

Fans of 'The Partridge Family', will remember Dave Madden, who played Reuben Kinkaid, the family band manager. He also passed away on Thursday. I fondly remember watching Reuben Kinkaid arguing with Danny. And wishing he and Mrs. Partridge would start dating! Rest in peace Dave Madden.
