How are you doing with reconciling Illness, Work and Marriage?

How are you doing with reconciling Illness, Work and Marriage?

Chronic pain can cause many troubled times in a marriage. Over the years, I've met and spoken to many men and women who had confided in me, that their marriages came to an end due the pressures and demands of their chronic illness.

In my own marriage, we've had some rough times as we redesigned our roles as man and wife. That's why it's so important to have a plan, together. Make a list of questions prepared, to ask each other. Research your options. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

If you need some professional assistance, consider a therapist, counselor, or a coach to assist you through this new journey. Some companies even offer Employee Assistance Program, which gives you free limited counseling sessions through their program. My husband's service even offers phone counseling which work better for his busy work schedule!

No matter what. Please keep the conversation going. Your marriage is so worth it!

In sickeness and in health. When I was diagnosed, we went from a happy couple expecting a blessing to thinking how my husband was going to raise our son if the baby and I didn't make it. By the grace of God we came out of that stronger and still in love. It wasn't easy but Im thankful everyday to be a part of this marriage.
