I Really Do Miss My Old Target Pharmacy!

Recently our Target announced they were closing the Pharmacy, as of February 27, 2014. I wasn't happy about it. The staff were always efficient and friendly. I can't count the times I would call in for a refill that morning and they would have it ready by the time I got there! The medications were always in stock. The scripts filled correctly. We had been given the best customer service at our Target Pharmacy.

Now, our prescriptions have been transferred to a different Target location. It's not the easiest location. I actually have to take 2 buses to get there. But, my husband and I wanted to give them a try. And guess what? They've managed to screw up my prescriptions.

Once with not including all of medications when I went to pick them up. Second, they didn't have enough of my medication to fill my script so I had to wait. Third, when I went to pick up my medication, they shorted me 100 pills and still charged me the full price! Yikes!

I have to head back to see if I can get this latest error corrected. "Man, do I miss my old Target pharmacy"!

HuffPostLive: What About All The Other Lupitas?

If you've watching the entertainment shows, I'm sure you've seen photos and video clips of Lupita not missing a beat in the beautiful gowns, looking absolutely radiant. Her gorgeous black skin makes colors pop. And she's shown many that have a short natural afro doesn't limit you to styles.

I actually got up early so I could watch and participate in this segment, LIVE. Marc Lamont Hill, HuffPostLive host, was joined Imani Perry,Professor at the Princeton Center for African American Studies, Kelley L. Carter, Entertainment Editor, EBONY Magazine, Brett Robinson, Actress and Lindsay Strachan, Actress to discuss the Lupita Nyong’o Buzz.

One of the questions: Has the entertainment industry finally 'embraced' dark black actresses with natural hair? My response: I don't think so but as the "Old Guard" retires and dies out, let's hope that the new crew will began embracing all types.

Lupita is a beautiful, stunning young woman. She's at ease, in her own skin. Did you notice her confidence on The Red Carpet? That's why everyone is talking about her!

She's a wonderful speaker too. Many commented on her amazing speech, at the Essence Black Women In Hollywood luncheon, in which she spoke about the insecurities she had about herself as a teenager; growing up as a dark skinned black girl, women that looked like her were barely portrayed in the media and when they were, they were not deemed as being beautiful. Applause please!

In my lifetime, it's been a pleasure to see that media is becoming more diverse. Who would have thought that we would see Laverne Cox, in a starring role on a hit series, Orange Is The New Black?

It's Time For "The Good Wife"

One of my favorite TV shows,The Good Wife returns, this Sunday, March 9, 9PM EST on CBS. I truly think this is going to be the show's banner season; lots of twists and turns, starting with the Ballot Vote Scandal.

Menu Plan Monday ~ March 3, 2014

Over the weekend, we watched Pacific Rim and Cowboys and Aliens, at home. Movie watching is more fun with a big screen TV. I don't think we're missing anything from not going to the movie theater anymore! Hubby's home theater popcorn is the bomb. And nobody has an issue if we talk during the movie!

I actually enjoyed Cowboys and Aliens more. I felt like it had a better script. While Pacific Rim was very predictable the special effects were lots of fun! My husband and son actually watched Pacific Rim twice. I guess you can see which movie was their favorite!

HuffPostLive: Spread The Word To End The 'R-Word'

This is one of the things that I love about HuffPostLive. They bring a topic to the surface, educated and encourage change! Today, we learned that the R-Word is no longer being tolerated.

excerpt from segment page: The R-word, commonly known as 'retard(ed),' is derogatory and hurtful to many. We talk with representatives from the Special Olympics and Best Buddies about creating more accepting attitudes and eliminating the word.

Product Recommendation: Turbo Tax

I've been using Turbo Tax.com for many years, to file our taxes. The biggest selling point, for me, is that it really it is user friendly. (in comparison to H&R Block)

The program walks you thru with a series of questions, to make sure you're getting every deduction. And if you need additional help it's available, for a fee.

Stop by the website for more information or to file your 2014 taxes.

Weekend Project: Organize Home Files

Our home files were literally screaming at me so I dedicated this weekend to them. First, I stopped at Pinterest for some guidance. I found some great ideas but decided to settle on just a couple.

Since the file folders were beat up, I purchased some new decorative files at Target. (they were on clearance) Armed with my Dymo Labelmaker, pen, shredder, Netflix and Hulu, I got at it!

It took 2 days but the file cabinet looks so much better! My next project will be organizing the desk drawers! fun, fun
