Trunk Club Has Arrived! May 2014

Since my husband and I have a couple of events this summer, I wanted to give Trunk Club a try.

ps Check out Ramblings of A Suburban Mom's Trunk Club reviews.

Trunk Club is a mens clothing service where a personal stylist handpicks a trunk of high-end brand clothes, based on your sizes, preferences and ships it to you for free! When you first order a Trunk Club you go through all the steps online to complete a profile (which includes measurements and sizes), set up a call with your personal stylist to discuss your style, any up coming events, etc.

After speaking with Chelsea, our personal stylist, she sent me an email with a 'Review Your Trunk" feature. This allowed me to preview the pieces she selected and add or decline them to the 'trunk'.

Trunk Club does send high end clothing, shoes and accessories. There is no styling fee. The size of the trunk and number of pieces included varies based on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend.

You have up to 10 days to ship back any returns before your credit card is charged for the shipped items. You get a prepaid return address label to ship anything that you don't want back reusing the same box.

FedEX delivered our box this morning. It did require a signature but since FedEX and Trunk Club sent me email notifications, I knew to be home.

I surprised my husband with this so he was really excited to open it. We were really impressed with how everything was so beautifully packaged.

We really like the style and color of the Navy JKT Washed Summer Peach Poole Blazer but we'll be sending it back for a larger size.

The Billy Reid shirt, tan Fullum & Holt belt, Brooklyn Socks, Cole Haan Oxford shoes, Ballin dress pants~need hemming and Vince V-neck tee are definite keepers!

Much buzz amongst the curvy community regarding Melissa McCarthy's fashion line this week! She's commented publicly about difficulty finding dresses for Red Carpet events. “Two Oscars ago, I couldn’t find anybody to do a dress for me,” McCarthy told Redbook in an interview appearing in their July Issue. “I asked five or six designers — very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people — and they all said no.”

I'm actually looking forward to seeing her fashion line since Melissa does have a fashion design background. Also, will she be offering pieces for events? Or will she be starting off with daytime items? I guess we'll have to wait and see!

It looks like BofA is having to open up their checkbook again! They're finally being taken to task on all of that bad paper! According to a CNN article, Bank of America defrauded buyers of mortgage-backed securities by misleading them about the quality of the loans involved.

The actor who portrays one of the dancing hamsters in a series of Kia car commercials has been arrested and charged with disability fraud. Apparently, he stated he was injured, during a dance route and couldn't work. But, he continued to work.

Netflix is now offering messages indicating when poor streaming quality is at the fault of the user's Internet service provider! Really? Finger pointing? All I know is when I sit down to watch a movie or a TV episode, I want to watch it!

Now, if we could only lock all of the Internet service providers and Netflix, in one room, till they hammered out a working partnership!

Rona's Day Off!

Sometimes, it's a good idea to take a day off from social media to really refresh, renew and just enjoy your life!

I ran errands with our son, who got to drive his mom around. He recently got his driver's license and could definitely use the practice!

We stopped by Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Grocery Store for some of our favorites! And to discover some new ones, like this Lobster Mac and Cheese!

I scheduled a mammogram today. Not a good idea, during the hot summer because you can't wear deodorant or powder. So, I carried an extra bag with a bra, shirt, deodorant, powder and perfume. A girl has to be comfortable!

Overall, today was a wonderful day. Definitely what I needed!

Menu Plan Monday ~ June 2, 2014

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We experienced a busy but fun one. And to wrap it up, hubby took us to our family favorite soul food restaurant, EllaEms.

As usual, I couldn't eat everything! They give you 3 sides with your entree so there's plenty to snack on later or save for next day's lunch.

I found time to stop by the public library and checked out a few books.

This week's menu plan will be including a few recipes from 'Martha's American Food'. During the summer, my family craves a lighter fare, and that includes sandwiches and salads!

Friday Dinner: Meatball Subs With Red Leaf Salad

Now this Blue Apron recipe was highly anticipated in my house! I make meatballs since my days in Portland, ME. Meatball sandwiches are one of my family's favorite dishes but this one blew mine out of the water!

I have filed their recipe aside for future use. They were just delicious!

Curtains: Updating Our Master Bedroom

Over the weekend, I stopped by Target and bought these gorgeous Threshold Medallion curtains for our master bedroom! I really love how they have updated our space.

1. Introduce yourself and your blog to us:

Hello all! Waving from hot Las Vegas! My name is Rona and this is my blog, BerryMorins Bits and Tips! As my profile states, I'm a wife, mom, Christian and a chronic pain and depression sufferer. I love taking care of my home, feeding people and loving my hubby of 18 years marriage, 20 yrs living together and 27 years in love!

I'm getting used to having a semi-empty nest now that our son, attends college and is in his 20's. (living that single life)

2. What is your favorite form of Social Media and why?

I just love Twitter because it brings so many things into my life. I've discovered Twitter parties, fellow chronic pain sufferers, and loads of interesting people and brands! It's a source of learning, entertainment and fun for me! Here's my primary Twitter handle @berrymorin! Come join me!

3. What made you start a blog?

I was following other homeschool bloggers and thought, "I would like to do that"! And so it began! That was in 2005!

4. What do you feel the most meaningful/special post you’ve written is?

It was when I've shared my experience with Major Depression and a suicide attempt. It's important for me to talk about it, for myself. For years, I allowed the stigma to keep me from accepting the diagnosis and getting proper treatment.
