Ramblings Of A Suburban Mom

Who says a cat can't appreciate his owners? It appears Finn really missed his when he returned from deployment. Watching this video really made me smile today.

It appears that we won't be seeing Amazon drones dropping off our packages anytime soon. The FAA won't allow them. I guess we'll just have to be satisfied with the UPS guy knocking at the door.

A North Carolina lawmaker tried to convince his colleagues Tuesday that if they want to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, they're going to be protecting people who practice incest, bestiality and pedophilia as well.

Is he freaking kidding me?!!! This is very sad!

The story of a young girl being asked to leave a KFC because her scars were making other customers uncomfortable is reportedly a hoax.

It appears the KFC location has been closed for years nor is there's no video of the little girl or her grandmother at any KFC locations.

Master Bathroom: Just A Few Changes

I decided to make some changes to our master bathroom after doing some updating in our master bedroom. But I didn't want to break the bank so I looked for affordable decor and bathroom items.

As much as I would like to frame the bathroom mirror, this is an apartment so it's a huge No-No.

Our son recently purchased a Hawaiian theme wall decal that came with these 2 flowers. He didn't want to use them so I got them for free! The lime green towels look great with the aqua shower curtain and wall print art! And the big plus was that I already had them in the house!

HuffPost Live: The Dangers Of Energy Drinks

HuffPost Live: From health scares to fatalities, research shows energy drinks are causing twice as many people to head to the emergency room these days. We discuss the dangers of consuming highly caffeinated beverages and explore why the products aren't regulated.

Scott @karlkscott, Nutritionist & Personal Trainer joined Ricky, HuffPost Live host to discuss the dangers of these products.

Do you think energy drinks should be regulated?

Oh Mother Hubbard! This Bacon Maple Cupcake Was Amazing!

My son and I were shopping at Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market today, when we saw a Bacon Maple Cupcake. As he placed it in the shopping cart, he said, "We'll split this".

When we finished unpacking and placing everything away, I got a serrated knife, sliced it in half and we took our first bites.

Oh my! This cupcake is wicked good!!!

Menu Plan Monday ~ June 23, 2014

Since I was still feeling under the weather, due to a major pain flare up we decided to stay home this weekend. Hubby and I watched some World Cup games which are always exciting! Bummer that USA lost to Portugal. Amazing game!

We found time to watch the The Monument Men DVD, starring Matt Damon, George Clooney and John Goodman. Hubby rated it a C but I felt it was a D movie because of the poor script and acting. See, this is why we prefer to watch our movies at home! Just the cost of our Netflix subscription, a bowl of homemade popcorn and beverages!

I love making breakfast for my family. And today, I decided to go all out!

Gwynnie Bee: Lucky Brand Paisley Bell Sleeve Top

The Lucky Brand Paisley Bell Sleeve Top is a self-typing split-neck yoke top with 3/4 quarter sleeves and allover wood block print.

This is a light weight fabric, great pairing with jeans, leggings, shorts, casual boho skirt.

Fabric: Cotton/Viscose

I wore this top a couple times before returning. Received a few compliments. While I enjoyed wearing it, I won't be adding it back to my virtual closet!

Oh, I need to give an update! While checking out my Gwynnie Bee page, at the bottom, I noticed the 2 clothing items, that I have at home, displayed with the retail vs discount price and option to buy! Very nice touch!
