Vegas: The Strip

Ask any Vegas resident, "Do you visit The Strip"? Many will answer not often. After living here for more than 7 years, we're no different. But when we do, we prefer to see it at night.

Lipshtick: Wendy Williams in Vegas

My husband, who replied, "Are you a Wendy Williams' fan"? Stated, "No, but my wife is. And I love her. So I'm here"!

Lipshtick, at The Venetian, launched with Wendy Williams. Her show as sold out. Lots of gorgeous people there. Laughs, drinks and a great time was had by all!

I even had the opportunity to have a photo taken with Tom Joyner. Thanks hubby!

Trunk Club: Our Son

Our son's girlfriend shared these photos of him, wearing a few of the Trunk Club pieces. Wow! He looks so grown up!

Thursday Thoughts ~ July 10, 2014

Next time you sit down in front of the TV, make sure you watch something exciting. Because a new study says boring television makes you fat.

Yikes! So, let's start watching something entertaining or better yet, turn off the TV.

Look, people send nude texts to their romantic interests: it's like a fact of the social media age. When it goes wrong, it's mortifying -- though often quite entertaining -- and that goes double when the drama is publicly documented on Twitter.

Oh Mother Hubbard! Yes, as a parent, this is gotta be part of the Top 5 Things You Don't Want To Know About Your Grown Children.

Overdraft charges are nothing new but a teenager in the UK was pretty surprised when his debit card was in the red to the tune of 300-thousand bucks...for a $30 Dominoes pizza!

His bank didn't flag the charge as fraud. The charge went through and he had a negative. But good news! His bank made the adjustment to his account. I sure hope that was a good pizza.

Sounds like we need …

Loving This Essie Nail Polish Color!

Are you having fun with this summer's nail polishes?

Our Son's Trunk Club Has Arrived! July 2014

Trunk Club is a mens clothing service where a personal stylist handpicks a trunk of high-end brand clothes, based on your sizes, preferences and ships it to you for free! When you first order a Trunk Club you go through all the steps online to complete a profile (which includes measurements and sizes), set up a call with your personal stylist to discuss your style, any up coming events, etc.

After speaking with Chelsea, our personal stylist, she sent me an email with a 'Review Your Trunk" feature. This allowed me to preview the pieces she selected and add or decline them to the 'trunk'.

Trunk Club does send high end clothing, shoes and accessories. There is no styling fee. The size of the trunk and number of pieces included varies based on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend.

You have up to 10 days to ship back any returns before your credit card is charged for the shipped items. You get a prepaid return address label to ship anything that you don&#…

Chronic Pain Sufferer: Just A Few Of My Cooking Tips I've Learned Along The Way

As a chronic pain sufferer, for more then a decade, I've learned that it's so important to eat more healthy. But, it can be difficult when you're living with chronic pain so here's just a few of my tips that I've learned along the way.

p.s. I'm still learning so I highly recommend following your favorite home cooks, bakers, etc . on Twitter, Facebook and blogs.

And don't be afraid to ask the experts questions! Many love to response!

Here's some of my favorites:

Mostly Homemade Mom , Oh Sweet Basil , Sara Moulton

Wednesday Dinner: Spaghetti and Homemade Meatballs

I really felt good today. I have more energy, after a good night's sleep and thought, "Let's make meatballs"! So, I got my out my big bowls, cookie sheets and favorite big pot and got cracking.

Thanks to a Blue Apron meatball recipe, I now bake my meatballs and finish them off in the sauce. Another tip: use parchment paper for quick cleanup.

Wordless Wednesday ~ July 9, 2014

Happy Wednesday!

Gwynnie Bee: London Times V-Neck Side Ruched Sheath Dress

Today, I received the London Times V-Neck Side Ruched Sheath Dress, from Gwynnie Bee, in the snail mail! I really love the orange and white color, as well as the design. Now I just need to play with the adjustable cinch tie to get the right fit.

The Impact Of Seinfeld: A Quarter Century

It's been 25 years since "Seinfeld" premiered! I definitely remember the days when my friend and I would gather for coffee and discuss the previous "Seinfeld" episode.

When my husband and I moved in together, he didn't understand my love of 'Seinfeld'. He thought they were the most miserable people in the world! Of course, I won him over.

My favorite episode was the one where George borrows his father's car, parks in the handicapped parking spot...just priceless.

My favorite characters was Uncle Leo, "Jerry"!! While our son, who grew up watching the series, thought living next door to Kramer would have been great!

Menu Plan Monday ~ July 7, 2014

I'm keeping the menu wicked simple this week. We're still in the brutal summer heat so I want to spend as little time, as possible, in the kitchen cooking!

Fried Chicken, Mixed Vegetables

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Vegetable Soup, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Fish and Chips

Tri Tip, Baked Beans

Hot Dogs, French Fries

I Won A Pair Of Jockey Skimmies!

If you follow my blog than you might have noticed that I love entering giveaways. Last month, I was thrilled to discover that I won a pair of Jockey Skimmies.

My mother raised me to always wear a slip under a dress or skirt. But these days that's no longer practical. So Jockey has combined a short with the benefits of a slip. Cuts down on static, gives you coverage, especially under those lightweight summer fabrics and comes in various colors!

I'll definitely be putting this one to good use! Thanks Jockey!

Ashley Lately

1. What is your favorite genre of music?

Oh my. That's a hard question but I really do enjoy listening to Old School R&B. Bobby Brown, Rick James, Cameo! Brings me back to the days in The Club!

2. What is your favorite genre of movies?

These days, I really love action movies. I just want to be entertained, see some amazing CGI and escape for a bit!

3. Do you watch reality TV? If so what was the first show you remember watching?

No, I finally have ended my relationship with reality TV. I find it extremely boring, repetitive and setup.

4. Who is an actress you’d want to be BFF’s with?

I would love to hang out with Judi Dench, Diahann Carroll and Helen Mirren for a few days. They look like they know how to have a good time!

5. Who is an actor you’d be happy to be stuck on an island with?

Mmm...well, my husband acts like he's really interested when I talk about nail polish colors so I'm going to pick him!
