Halloween Greeting Card Tree 2014

I've seen Halloween theme trees on Pinterest and blogs and secretly wanted to give the project a try. So when I saw a few branches on the ground, while I was taking a walk today, I pulled out my scrapbook supplies and got to it!

I trimmed and cleaned the branch so it would fit in the glass vase. I had a big bag of brown rice which works well for anchoring the branch. The Halloween greeting cards, ribbon and twine make perfect ornaments for our tree.

This project was zero cost by using the items that I already had.

Macy's To Kick Off Black Friday Earlier!

The war on Thanksgiving has officially begun. Macy's confirmed to The Huffington Post Tuesday that it will open stores to Black Friday shoppers at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving day -- two hours earlier than it opened last year.

My husband is usually working on the holidays so I've gotten into starting my holiday shopping online. But as far as hitting the stores, I learned from my experience of being in Big Lots, on Black Friday. Man was it busy!

Would a store opening a couple hours earlier, on Black Friday, get you in the shopping mood?

Just Received "Independent Ed" by Ed Burns and Todd Gold

Just when I was pondering what book to read next, I received an email informing me that I had won an advance copy of "Independent Ed: Inside a Career of Big Dreams, Little Movies, and the Twelve Best Days of My Life" by Edward Burns and Todd Gold.

I've always found Mr. Burns interesting. He's an actor, director, writer, that made his first movie at 25 years old, for just $25,000. The Brothers McMullen went on to win awards and establish him in the Indie movie field.

He's gone on to act in Entourage and Mob City, as well as promote online distribution for movies and TV shows.

I'm always interested in reading about people who chose a different route to take. It's not always easy but when you decide to not to follow the pack, it be the most rewarding!

Menu Plan Monday ~ October 13, 2014

Organizing Junkie

Hubby and I watched loads of "Gilmore Girls" on Netflix this weekend. After that experience, I'm on overload. So Sunday, I decided to take a break and see "Inspector Lewis" on PBS. I'm never let down with that British mystery series. After 7 seasons I've never guess who the murder was before the conclusion.

This week is going to be jammed packed with errands, To-Dos and I don't have much time to be spending in the kitchen. So, I'm keeping this week's menu plan wicked simple.

Celebrating October 12, 2008 !

October 12, 2008 we renewed our wedding vows. Our journey has been full of much laughter and tears. I'm so happy and honored to call you my husband!

Hubby and I had so much fun this year! 2014~ We finally took a honeymoon at Aliante Casino and Hotel, in North Las Vegas. I actually get teary-eyed every time I think about our time there. I'm so glad we waited to do this!

Taking a break from a walk in our favorite neighborhood park on a Sunday! It's fun to see people having fun, watching the dogs in the dog park and spending time together!

This summer, we attended the Wendy Williams comedy show at The Venetian, in Las Vegas. When someone asked if my husband was a Wendy Williams fan, he replied, "No, I'm not but my wife is. And I love her so I'm here".

Sunday Social ~ The Final Edition

Per the hosts of Sunday Social, this one is the end. They will be launching a new linky party in November. It's been lots of fun participating in Sunday Social. I hope you have enjoyed it as well.

Now, onto this week's final Sunday Social Q and A!

How did you come up with your blog name?

Not a lot of creativity in creating the name of my blog. I knew I wanted to incorporate my last name because it's unique. Also my blog would be about lots different interests of mine, hence bits and tips came to mind. So now you know how I came up with BerryMorins Bits and Tips.

What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now cant live without?

If I can only mention one thing that would be PicMonkey! I just love it!~I first read about it on 5 Minutes for Mom, clicked on the links and the rest is history!

Facebook or Twitter? and why?

I totally love Twitter because of the great benefits it has brought into my life. I've been able to appear on various HuffPost Live segments, speak with celebrities, experts and fellow chronic illness sufferers has truly broaden my horizons and opened up my heart.

Reach out to our favorite brands, TV shows, home cooks and chefs with my questions and comments has been lots of fun. And many times, I do get a response. Love that!

Oh, I can't forget discovering Twitter Parties! Great opportunities to network, learn about new products and services and occasionally win a prize or two!

And I can't say enough about the friends I've made on Twitter. A few of us even chat on Skype or Google Hangout a few times a month.

And of course, one of the highlights of the year, was when I got to meet Sherry Lee Meredith, host of Go Curvy, when she was in Las Vegas, for the 40 Plus Diva Fashion Show this August! And appear on The Red Carpet!

Yes, Twitter rocks!
