DIY: Name Garland

This #DIY name garland would be great for birthday celebration! "Thanks @Pinterest for the inspiration"! pic.twitter.com/KkpKvpL6kB— Rona BerryMorin (@berrymorin) May 9, 2015

I used scrapbook paper, fabric bead paint, Martha Stewart Wedding Cake craft paint, manila envelopes, mini clothes pins, tape and kitchen twine to create my Name Chair Garland.

It was a fun project and only took a few hours. (I had the let the paint dry) Check out Pinterest for more #DIY inspiration!

Thursday Breakfast: French Toast Casserole

First of all, I used white sugar, only sprinkled a tablespoon on the bread. Only 4 eggs instead of 6 since I made it in a square Pyrex dish. And finally, I substituted Allspice for the Cinnamon.

My husband loved this French Toast Casserole. He said it reminded him of Bread Pudding. As for me, I didn't suffer an Gastritis attack so this is a winner!

Wednesday Dessert: Angel Food Cake With Strawberries

Not only is Angel Food Cake with Strawberries a favorite summer dessert of ours but it qualifies for my low acid diet! Woohoo!!!

I made it easy by purchasing an Angel Food Cake at the grocery store. Just serve with fresh strawberries and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Spring Cleaning: Kitchen

While my husband reorganized the cupboards over the weekend. I washed the walls, cupboards and appliances. Spring Cleaning the kitchen was so much fun when you have someone to do it with.

Tuesday Breakfast: Oven Pancake

There are many Oven Pancake recipes out there but I always use the one from my Betty Crocker Big Red Cookbook. If you don't have access to one, here's another delicious recipe from Sugar Bananas.

Spring Cleaning: Hallway Bathroom

I spent a few days sorting, cleaning and reorganizing the Hallway Bathroom. We use the cupboards for additional storage since the Master Bathroom is the primary.

I also purchased new brown shower curtain hooks from Big Lots. We had some ugly cream shower curtain hooks that were extremely difficult to unhook.

The wreath was moved from the hallway and the stars were taken from our storage.

Small touches really tie everything together.

Monday: "What's For Lunch"?

I grilled the lobster tails, chopped in big pieces, added salt, pepper, EVOO and fresh parsley. It's nice to start the week off with some indulgence for lunch!

Menu Plan Monday ~ May 4, 2015

Hubby and I had a terrific weekend. We ran errands, enjoy a nice lunch at Ruby Tuesday, and visited with our son. Oh, I'm ahead of myself. Our son and his family has moved back to Las Vegas, from Tulsa, OK.

Sunday, hubby and I did housework and projects around the house. Then it was time for to relax and watch 'Call The Midwife', 'Mr. Selfridge' and 'White Hall' on PBS.

Saturday Dinner: London Broil and Mushroom Sandwiches

What to do with leftover London Broil?

Hubby diced it into bite size pieces, sauteed mushrooms and onions, add deli bread and dinner is ready!

Due to my dietary restriction, I skipped the onions and condiments but not the flavor!

My husband loved assembling his sandwich. We had some Au Jus sauce left, from the night before so he cooked his vegetables in it. This was a delicious dinner!

Spring Cleaning: Craft Supply Closet

Last week, I decided it was final the time to get my craft supply closet organized. So, I cleared everything out, sorted, organized and labeled away. The process was much more enjoyable by listening to some music and just singing along.

Now everything is in it's proper box and place!

Sunday Lunch: Shrimp and Spaghetti

We purchased fresh Wild Catch Shrimp at the grocery store this weekend. It's been very warm and we were in the mood for seafood.

I made Shrimp Alfredo and Spaghetti for my husband. And he loved it! Due to my dietary restrictions I couldn't do any taste testing but per his smiles, nods and grunts it was a winner!

For my dish, I used button mushrooms, fresh parsley, gourmet salt, cracked black pepper and EVOO. I loved the light fresh taste of this meal. Perfect for a warm Las Vegas day!
