Clay Walsh is a reformed frat boy who has decided to go against the grain and live out his theories on love and romance, that have roots in old fashioned courtship.

Amber Hewson is a young woman with a wandering soul, who stays in one place until she feels the urge to move on. Her free-spirited attitude hides the pain of her past.

When Amber rents the apartment above Clay's antique shop, it bring two different people together. The two began to have conversations while Clay makes repairs in Amber's apartment.

And when Clay informs her his rules, Amber is intrigued. They began their courtship, while utilizing a marriage preparation book, from church. Friends give their opinions of their relationship, as it continues to develop. The good, the bad and the ugly!

While I thought the movie was a bit slow, in some parts, I actually grew to appreciated the pace. It was like I became invested in these two people's future. Yes, I was even cheering them on!

The location and autumn touches were right up my alley! I fell for my husband in Southern Maine during fall foliage!

The supporting cast brought humor, as well as drama to Clay and Amber's love story. As well, as to their own.

While watching the movie, I couldn't help thinking of my husband, when we became emptynesters, he announced, "I'm going to start courting you all over again". He has made me feel like a schoolgirl again.

Overall, this was a wonderful romantic movie, perfect for a hot summer day and a glass of iced tea. Just don't forget to have a box of tissues or a hanky near by! I plan on watching this movie again!

Movie Synopsis :

A romantic-drama, OLD FASHIONED centers on Clay Walsh, a former frat boy who gives up his reckless carousing and now runs an antique shop in a small Midwestern college town. There, he has become notorious for his lofty and outdated theories on love and romance as well as for his devout belief in God. When Amber Hewson, a free-spirited young woman with a restless soul, drifts into the area and rents the apartment above his shop, she finds herself surprisingly drawn to his strong faith and noble ideas, which are new and intriguing to her. And Clay, though he tries to fight and deny it, simply cannot resist being attracted to her spontaneous and passionate embrace of life. Ultimately, Clay must step out from behind his relational theories and Amber must overcome her own fears and deep wounds as the two of them, together, attempt the impossible: an "old-fashioned" and God-honoring courtship in contemporary America.

Sunday Dinner: Marinated Steak And Roasted Vegetables

Another home run from Hello Fresh! Since I'm not feeling well, hubby did all the prep and cooking while I read the recipe and cooking directions.

We really enjoyed the vegetables, tender and delicious, with just some EVOO, salt and pepper. The steak was sliced in half so that my husband could marinated his in orange juice, orange zest and garlic. While mine was just EVOO, salt, pepper and rosemary!
