Mmm...Homemade Southern Biscuits

It's a joy baking biscuits. When I think about it, I've been baking biscuits since my teens. So I know that it won't surprise when I say that still love making homemade biscuits.

I love the change of texture of the dough while kneading. The smell of flour and butter cover my hands. Cutting the dough, placing the biscuits on the baking stone get my heart skipping.

I no longer use a timer. My nose is the best judge for when it's time to pull them out of the oven.

The hot biscuits are placed on a plate for the family to grab and devour.

San Gennaro Feast Italian Festival May 10-14, 2017 North Las Vegas

My husband, granddaughter and I had a fabulous time at the San Gennaro Feast Italian Festival last year! The funnel cakes and Italian sausage sandwich were wicked good!

Our granddaughter experienced her first pony ride that day! The three of us even went on the ferris wheel! It was so much fun!

So it won't surprise you when I tell you that we are excited that the festival is returning!

Community Garden ~ Sunday

My husband and I decided to take a walk to the neighborhood farmers market this weekend. While we were there, we thought it would be a good idea to check out our garden lot, in the community garden.

This winter has been unusually cold and windy. We actually thought we wouldn't see any plants surviving but we did!
