Family Summer Book Club

My daughter-in-law came up with this fun idea to promote summer reading with our granddaughter. But we quickly realized it's fun for the adults too. I have great memories of participating in summer reading programs at the public library as a kid. So when she invited me to join her and my granddaughter I said "Yes"!

We started with "Ivy + Bean And The Ghost That Had To Go" by Annie Barrows. This book is actually no. 2 in a series. And for those of us who adored Beverly Cleary books, in their childhood, this one will be a treat.

my daughter-in-law showing off the book. Treats were shortbread cookies. ~ yummy.

We each take turns reading, a page or two, out loud. It's a judgement free zone. Read at your comfortable pace. Skip your turn. Read more pages if you like.

We have Q & A afterwards. Everyone has a turn to respond to the questions and/or give feedback.

This is a fun activity to add to your summer bucket list!
